Dancer Auditions Ahead of the Inauguration of the AMANAH Building by President Jokowi

ACEH – Ahead of the inauguration of the Aneuk Muda Aceh Unggul Besar Building (AMANAH) by President Joko Widodo in September 2024, various preparations have begun to be made to ensure the event runs successfully. One of the main preparations is the audition of dancers who will appear in the opening performance for the inauguration of the AMANAH Building. The audition was held for three days, from 19 to 21 August 2024, at the Aceh Museum, Banda Aceh.

This audition was attended by hundreds of participants aged 16 to 30 years, both men and women. These participants can audition individually or in groups with an unlimited number of members. Previously, AMANAH had opened online audition registration, which was greeted with high enthusiasm from the public.

Denny Malik, a renowned choreographer who acted as the main judge in this audition, explained that the dance concept that will be performed at the inauguration of the AMANAH Building combines elements of traditional Acehnese arts and culture with a modern touch.

“Traditional dances, as well as explored dances, creative dances. “We combine it,” said Denny.

During the audition process, the participants were asked to perform various dances with traditional Acehnese nuances. One of the most prominent is the Saman Dance, a typical Gayo dance which is famous for its beautiful movements and cohesiveness. The participants’ appearance on stage was assessed by the jury based on the quality of their dance, creativity and ability to display elements of Acehnese culture.

Dancer audition participants aged 16-30 years, male and female, were asked to perform various dances with traditional Acehnese nuances. Participants can audition in a group format with an unlimited number of members.

“We will show it in a colossal manner later at the opening event of AMANAH. So, hopefully later we can choose. “We need almost 500 dancers working together with dance stylist friends here,” he explained.

The AMANAH program, which is one of President Joko Widodo’s flagship programs, which was initiated and realized under the guidance of the State Intelligence Agency (BIN), has had a positive impact on the development of the young generation in Aceh.

Through various training activities, workshops and competitions, AMANAH has become a forum for Acehnese youth to explore their talents and creativity. Denny Malik also expressed his hope that AMANAH will continue to be a place for Aceh’s young generation to excel and develop their potential.

“We have a duty, we have an obligation to support our young people in Indonesia, especially Aceh. Young generation to dare to explore, dare to express, create. “So, in AMANAH this is the place for them to excel,” concluded Denny.

In the long term, it is hoped that the AMANAH Building will not only become a symbol of the success of this program, but also become a center for developing creativity and innovation for Aceh’s young generation. With various programs and activities that have been planned, the AMANAH Building will be a place where Acehnese youth can develop their talents, broaden their horizons, and contribute to the progress of Aceh and Indonesia.

The inauguration of this building by President Jokowi in September will be a historical milestone that marks the government’s commitment to supporting the development of human resources in Aceh, especially the younger generation.
