Jakarta – The election for the Chairperson of the Universitas Indonesia Alumni Association (ILUNI UI) for the 2025–2028 period is seen as a crucial moment to determine the direction of Indonesia’s largest alumni organization. Among the candidates running, the name of Dr. Dewi Puspitorini, Sp.P, MARS stands out with her vision of modernization, transparency, and cross-generational solidarity.
As a pulmonologist and hospital management expert, Dewi is known for her collaborative, open leadership style that focuses on delivering tangible results. With the tagline “U & I Guyub, U and I become Us”, she emphasizes that togetherness is not only about gathering, but also about the collective strength to move alumni forward as one.
One of her key proposals is the development of an integrated digital alumni ecosystem through the UI Connect platform. This platform is designed to connect alumni networks from various fields, both domestically and abroad, enabling real collaboration that can create direct impact for society.
“Technology should be used to bring people closer, not to limit them,” said Dewi.
Beyond digitalization, Dewi places strong emphasis on transparent and professional organizational governance. She believes accountability is the key for ILUNI UI to remain trusted, relevant, and capable of evolving with the times. She has also prepared programs that directly address alumni needs, such as regular health check-ups, psychological services, and financial support for those in need.
Support for Dewi has come from various circles. ILUNI UI Secretary General Ahmad Fitrianto noted that Dewi’s ideas align with the organization’s current needs.
“Especially in strengthening synergy with HIMPUNI and the government,” he said.
Similar support was expressed by Dr. Risman Pasaribu, a member of the Expert Council of the National KAHMI, who described Dewi as a figure of high integrity with extensive experience. According to him, Dewi has the capacity to bring ILUNI UI toward being more modern, transparent, and inclusive.
The ILUNI UI Chairperson election will take place on August 23–24, 2025, through an e-voting system, which is expected to broaden alumni participation while strengthening the legitimacy of the election results.
With her inclusive vision, commitment to digital technology, and transparent governance, Dr. Dewi Puspitorini is believed to be capable of leading ILUNI UI into becoming a cohesive, progressive organization ready to face future challenges.
