West Manggarai – The Ministry of Communication and Informatics (Kemkominfo), has prepared digital infrastructure to support the successful holding of the ASEAN Summit in Labuan Bajo.
According to Plt. Director General of Post and Information Administration (PPI) of the Ministry of Communication and Information, Ismail, said that his party continues to monitor telecommunications networks so that they remain of high quality.
“One of the duties of the Ministry of Communications and Informatics is to provide telecommunication networks and internet access so that the 2023 ASEAN chairmanship will run smoothly,” he said in a statement quoted on the Kominfo.go.id page.
Apart from that, in holding the 2023 ASEAN Summit, Kominfo has also prepared an adequate infrastructure network.
“For the 2023 ASEAN Summit which will be held in Labuan Bajo, Kominfo has ensured the readiness of telecommunications network infrastructure in the region. There is a 3,773.73 km fiber optic network with 2,055 optical distribution points. In addition, there are 1,635 BTS 4G and 3 BTS 5G,” he said.
Meanwhile, the local government has also finalized all preparations to welcome the ASEAN delegates.
For your information, the courtyard of the West Manggarai Regent’s Office is being prepared to become a parking pocket for electric vehicles belonging to participants of the 42nd ASEAN Summit.
“The priority is parking in the yard of the regent’s office, there are 12 cars. 11 cars of Heads of State and 1 car belonging to the Secretary of ASEAN,” said West Manggarai Regent Edistasius Endi.
However, continued Regent Edi, did not rule out the possibility of an additional number of vehicles. Considering that the land prepared is quite large and is estimated to be able to accommodate more than 12 electric vehicles.
“It is still possible for vehicles belonging to ministers or other participants to park there. There will also be an electricity charging station which is currently being built,” he said.
On the other hand, Labuan Bajo Customer Service Unit (ULP) Manager, Ridwan said that in the yard of the regent’s office it is planned to install 7 units of Ultra Fast Charging Public Electric Vehicle Charging Stations (SPKLU) and 25 units of Home Charging.
“Meanwhile, plans are for Kampung Ujung, Hotel Jayakarta, Waterfront, ASDP Harbor parking, Puncak Waringin, Hotel Ayana and Hotel Sudamala according to the instructions of the Ministry of State Secretary,” said Ridwan.
Regarding the big theme raised at the ASEAN Summit this time, Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Kemlu) Teuku Faizasyah said, the ASEAN Summit meeting raised two big themes ASEAN Matters and the ASEAN Epicentrum of Growth.
“The 42nd ASEAN Summit in Labuan Bajo will produce documents to strengthen ASEAN countries. This strengthening includes political, economic and socio-cultural pillars,” said Teuku Faizasyah.
In addition to the 42nd ASEAN Summit in Labuan Bajo 9-11 May 2023, the ASEAN Plus Summit will also be held in September 2023 in Jakarta.
“The ASEAN Plus Summit meeting will involve key countries outside the region, such as the United States,” said Faizasyah.
