Jakarta – President Jokowi has succeeded in leading Indonesia towards a better nation through steps taken such as sustainable infrastructure development. This is because infrastructure is the driving force for economic growth and public welfare. President Jokowi’s policy of placing infrastructure development as a top priority has had a significant impact on the country’s progress.
Various dynamics and challenges faced by Indonesia, have been successfully passed by President Jokowi very well. Lecturer of FISIP who is also a Political Observer from Bung Karno University, Faisyal Chaniago said that President Jokowi has carried out equalization of economic growth throughout Indonesia.
“Jokowi has built toll roads, roads in rural and urban areas, has built around 50 ports for inter-island connections. The goal is for economic growth to be evenly distributed, especially in the regions,” said Faisyal Chaniago.
Faisyal also added that the massive infrastructure development carried out by President Jokowi is very beneficial for the community and is an indicator of a country’s progress.
“The positive effect is lowering production costs. If production costs decrease, the cost of goods will automatically decrease. Indirectly, the cost of living for the community will decrease. So, there is no country that builds a country without infrastructure and this is an indicator of a country,” added Faisyal.
Not only that, Faisyal Chaniago also said that President Jokowi has left the old paradigm of Java-centric to Indonesia-centric. According to him, all regions have the same rights to enjoy development.
“Jokowi has abandoned the old paradigm of Jawasentring and made Indonesiasentris. All regions have the same rights to enjoy development. Thus, the transpapua, transsumatera, and transkalimantan roads were born, as well as infrastructure development in other areas so that the effect is equitable development,” he explained.
Faisyal also asked the entire community to support and appreciate the policies that Jokowi has implemented because the long-term effects of this development will be felt by all Indonesian citizens.
“So, we must appreciate the steps taken by Jokowi. The effect is the disappearance of social jealousy from the regions and the distribution of development does not only occur on the island of Java, so that other regions also have independence. Of course, this policy is a long-term effect carried out by Jokowi in building this country,” he concluded.
