Jakarta – The government, through the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs, has prepared various incentive packages to support public mobility and maintain purchasing power during Ramadan and the 2026 Eid al-Fitr holiday.
These incentives include discounts on transportation fares, toll road tariffs, and the distribution of food social assistance as part of efforts to maintain national economic stability.
Secretary of the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs Susiwijono Moegiarso stated that the 2026 Eid al-Fitr stimulus package will not be significantly different from previous years, namely providing transportation discounts and rolling out assistance programs to maintain people’s purchasing power.
The government has targeted the number and discount schemes for various modes of transportation, from trains, sea transportation, ASDP crossings, to flights.
“We’ve already set targets for rail, sea, ASDP crossings, and air. The concept is almost the same as before,” he emphasized.
Regarding the Government-Borne VAT (PPNDTP) incentive for airline tickets, Susiwijono said the government wanted a larger scheme than the previous year.
This is based on data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) which shows that community mobility makes a significant contribution to economic growth and Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
“BPS has released GDP data several times, and it turns out that human mobility contributes significantly. That’s why we still want to propose. Even if possible, for example, the share of airplanes was between 13 and 14 percent, with some reaching 16 percent. We’re proposing even more. But there are many alternative proposals,” he said.
Meanwhile, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto stated that the government has set a budget target for incentives and discounts for the Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr 2026 period.
“The range is IDR 13 trillion,” said Airlangga.
He explained that the policy package would generally include transportation discounts, toll fee cuts, and the distribution of social food assistance in the form of rice and Minyak Kita.
However, further details regarding the amount of each incentive are still being finalized.
“As before. Then, perhaps the amount (of incentives) will be greater, bigger,” said Airlangga.
With these various achievements, the government reaffirmed its commitment to providing incentives again during the 2026 Eid al-Fitr holiday as a form of state presence in facilitating public mobility while maintaining the momentum of national economic growth.
