Electrical Alert Inspections Held, Ramadan Supply Stable Guaranteed
Jakarta – The government is ensuring the readiness of the national electricity supply during Ramadan by conducting electricity standby inspections in various strategic areas. This measure is taken to ensure system reliability, especially during increased electricity consumption during the pre-dawn meal (suhoor) and breaking the fast, which historically experiences significant spikes in various regions. This readiness is part of efforts to maintain the stability of public services so that the public can perform their religious obligations in peace and remain productive in their daily activities.
PT PLN (Persero) President Director Darmawan Prasodjo stated that PLN has prepared thousands of standby personnel across all operational units, from generation to transmission to distribution. Furthermore, the national power reserve is guaranteed to be secure, with sufficient margin to anticipate peak loads, especially at night and before dawn.
“We conducted a thorough inspection of power plants, substations, and distribution networks to ensure the electricity system remains reliable during Ramadan,” he said.
The inspections included equipment readiness checks, protection system testing, and disruption simulations to ensure any potential issues could be addressed quickly and effectively. PLN also strengthened internal coordination between units and collaborated with various relevant parties to ensure a secure primary energy supply.
Darmawan added that PLN has prepared a rapid response system for technical disruptions in the field, including digital-based monitoring through load control centers in various regions. This technology enables early detection of system anomalies, allowing immediate remedial action to be taken before they significantly impact customers.
“Standby officers are stationed at strategic points to ensure optimal service to the public,” he said.
In addition to technical readiness, PLN has also opened a 24-hour customer complaints channel to ensure every report can be promptly addressed. This service optimization is expected to maintain the quality of electricity supply, particularly in residential areas, economic centers, public facilities, and places of worship.
The electricity standby inspection demonstrates the government and PLN’s commitment to maintaining national energy stability. With infrastructure preparedness, a strengthened monitoring system, and adequate personnel support, a stable electricity supply is guaranteed during Ramadan to support worship services, household activities, and the business sector, which tends to increase during the holy month. This preventative measure is expected to provide a sense of security and comfort for all people as they observe Ramadan devoutly and productively.
