Ending HLF MSP and IAF 2024, Indonesia Pushes for International Collaboration

BALI – Deputy for Politics, Law, Defense, and Security of Bappenas, Bogat Widyatmoko, emphasized the importance of collaboration between parties to produce new breakthroughs in economic cooperation.

“South-South cooperation and the trade and investment platform will be a new means of diplomacy that will prioritize economic diplomacy. This will be the beginning of comprehensive diplomacy,” Bogat said.

He also appreciated the success of the implementation of the HLF MSP in Bali, which according to him could not be separated from the role of journalists.

“On behalf of Bappenas, we would like to express our gratitude for the support and coverage of our media colleagues during the past two days in Bali, especially at the High-Level MSP forum,” said Bogat.

According to the Deputy for Politics, Law, Defense, and Security of Bappenas, the HLF MSP discussed three main themes, namely South-South Triangular Cooperation (SSTC), sustainable economy, and innovative financing.

According to Bogat, the event began with a joint leadership session led by President Joko Widodo and attended by seven heads of state, including six from Africa and one from Timor Leste.

“After that, the event continued with a session at the Bali International Convention Center (BICC) for HLF MSP,” he added.

Furthermore, Bogat revealed that the forum also included a plenary session opened by the Minister of National Development Planning/Bappenas Suharso Monoarfa and a keynote speech by the President of Timor Leste Xanana Gusmao. The forum included 12 parallel sessions involving various side events and bilateral meetings.

“Alhamdulillah, because this forum is public, participation is very high with around 1,502 participants and presenting 86 well-known speakers,” he explained.

Meanwhile, Deputy for Economic Affairs of Bappenas, Amalia Adininggar Widyansanti, highlighted the importance of the blended financing method as a solution to overcome the financing gap. In fact, Indonesia has also exemplified regional economic development.

“Indonesia has developed the Bali Development Fund (BDF), a new innovation to help implement economic transformation. BDF is one of the financing breakthroughs that can be done at the regional, national, and international levels,” said Amalia.

The High-Level MSP Forum in Bali has successfully brought together various stakeholders to discuss innovative solutions to global development challenges.
