Experts Evaluate People’s Schools in the Prabowo Era as a Pillar of National Education Equity

Jakarta – Political expert and Founder of Indonesian Political Literacy (LPI), Ujang Komarudin, considers the inauguration of 166 People’s Schools by Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto as an important milestone in efforts to equalize and improve the quality of national education.

The People’s School Program is considered not only to address the issue of access to education for children from poor families, but also to be a long-term national strategy in breaking the chain of poverty between generations.

“This step can be seen as a concrete effort by the state to break the chain of poverty by expanding access to more equitable education,” said Ujang.

Amidst these structural problems, Ujang emphasized that education remains the most rational and humane way to break the chain of poverty.

In the current Indonesian context, President Prabowo Subianto is considered to understand this essence by placing education as one of the crucial points in Asta Cita towards Golden Indonesia 2045.

“President Prabowo seems to truly understand this essence, making education a crucial point in Asta Cita, his government’s strategic vision toward Golden Indonesia 2045,” he added.

Ujang views the People’s School as a symbol of the state’s presence in ensuring that children from poor and extremely poor families receive access to decent, free, and dignified education.

“People’s Schools are an important symbol that the state is not turning a blind eye to the plight of children from poor families,” he said.

More than just an educational program, the People’s School reflects the country’s efforts to glorify human dignity and open up hope for the future.

President Prabowo Subianto himself expressed his gratitude for the tangible impact of the People’s School program. He emphasized that the government will continue to work hard to ensure that all citizens can benefit from the nation’s wealth, one way of doing this is through education.

“I am very happy today. Thank you to all ministries/agencies, institutions, and stakeholders, as well as the support of the Regents/Mayors and Governors who have worked hard to realize this bold, breakthrough step,” said President Prabowo after the inauguration of the People’s School in Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan.
