Jakarta – In the spirit of building a healthy generation towards Golden Indonesia 2045, the government is implementing a Free Health Check program that is being held throughout Indonesia. This program aims to increase public awareness of the importance of early detection and prevention of disease as the main key to forming superior human resources in the future.
Deputy Minister of Health, Dante Saksono Harbuwono, said that 1.5 million people have been examined through the Free Health Check program from the Ministry of Health. The data is calculated from the first time the program was launched last February.
“On a national scale, as of April 10, 1.8 million people have registered. Of that number, 1.5 million have come (for check-ups),” said Dante.
Dante explained that the thousands of people are the accumulation of services in 37 provinces and 9,001 community health centers (puskesmas) throughout Indonesia. Dante hopes that this program can be more massive and more people will take advantage of the free health check facilities.
“Because by conducting free health checks, we can identify diseases that have not yet occurred, and if they have occurred, they can be treated quickly,” he said.
Dante is optimistic that this program can be one solution to the burden of medical costs that currently shackles the community, both individually and as a government.
Meanwhile, Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Cucun Ahmad Syamsurijal, expressed his appreciation for the implementation of the Free Health Check program which has started since February 10, 2025. According to him, this program is real evidence of the state’s presence in ensuring the welfare of the people through health services that are easily accessible to all levels of society.
“This is a manifestation of the state’s presence in the 2025 State Budget! The government of Mr. Prabowo Subianto continues to strengthen the welfare of the community, including with the CKG program which provides broad access to health services,” said Cucun.
Cucun said that from the beginning he had fully supported this program when it was discussed with the government.
“At that time I was the leader of the DPR Budget Agency and welcomed Mr. Prabowo’s program. This is a concrete solution for the community, especially those who have difficulty accessing medical services,” he said.
The Free Health Check Program is an important foundation for Indonesia’s great ideals, to become an advanced, healthy, and highly competitive nation in Golden Indonesia 2045.
