Jakarta – Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives Cucun Ahmad Syamsurijal expressed his appreciation for the implementation of the Free Health Check (CKG) program which has started since February 10, 2025.
According to him, this program is real evidence of the state’s presence in ensuring people’s welfare through health services that are easily accessible to all levels of society.
“This is a form of the state’s presence in the 2025 State Budget! The government of Mr. Prabowo Subianto continues to strengthen community welfare, including with the CKG program which provides broad access to health services,” said Cucun.
Cucun said that from the beginning he had fully supported this program when it was discussed with the government. “At that time I was the head of the DPR Budget Agency and welcomed Mr. Prabowo’s program. This is a concrete solution for the community, especially those who have difficulty accessing medical services,” he said.
The CKG program is run based on the community’s life cycle and consists of three main schemes: birthday CKG, school CKG, and special CKG for pregnant women and toddlers.
The birthday scheme has been started since February 10 and targets children aged 0-6 years and residents aged 18 years and above. The examination is carried out at the Community Health Center and collaborating clinics, within a period of 30 days after the birthday.
“This program is very useful. The public can find out their health status earlier and immediately take medical steps if necessary,” said Cucun.
Deputy Chairman of the MPR RI Eddy Soeparno also expressed his appreciation for the government’s steps. He believes that CKG can strengthen the early detection system for diseases and improve the quality of life of the community. “We believe that this program can prevent various diseases because the community knows their health condition earlier,” he said.
Eddy emphasized that CKG complements President Prabowo’s commitment to ensuring public health. “After MBG was running, now CKG is here. This real action shows that no people are left behind,” he said.
Support also came from the international community. WHO Director General, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, praised the CKG program as an important preventive policy step. He considered that early detection like this is very effective in increasing the chances of recovery and preventing more serious complications of the disease.
“WHO’s appreciation illustrates the urgency of this program globally. Now it remains how to implement it optimally,” concluded Eddy.
