The construction of Nusantara Student Dormitories (AMN) in various Indonesian cities is one of the government’s strategic programs in creating a conducive learning environment for students from various backgrounds. One of the newest projects is the construction of AMN in Manado, North Sulawesi, which is showing positive progress and continues to be closely monitored by the authorities.
Director of Strategic Infrastructure, Directorate General of Human Settlements, Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR), Ir. Essy Asiah, emphasized that AMN development in Manado continues to run well. He also encouraged contractors to make a work check list every week and continue to calculate the need for workers in each building in the AMN Manado area.
AMN’s presence in Manado is a continuation of a similar program that has been successfully implemented in Surabaya. The construction of AMN in Manado reflects the government’s commitment to providing facilities that support students from various ethnicities, languages, cultures and religions to study and collaborate in a conducive environment. AMN is not just a dormitory, but also a self-development center that will prepare young people as future leaders of the nation.
In developing AMN, collaboration between institutions is very important. This development is a collaborative effort involving various ministries and institutions, including the State Intelligence Agency (BIN), Ministry of Defense, Ministry of PUPR, Ministry of Education and Research and Technology, Ministry of Religion, Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP), universities, and local governments. This collaboration ensures that every aspect of AMN’s development can run smoothly and in accordance with the targets that have been set.
Nusantara Student Dormitories were built in six provinces, namely in Jakarta, Yogyakarta, Surabaya, Malang, Makassar and Manado. AMN Surabaya itself has been completed and was inaugurated directly by President Jokowi. Meanwhile, the government is currently processing the construction of AMN in Manado. Each AMN is designed to provide a comfortable and supportive environment for students to learn, create and collaborate. The facilities provided at AMN include study rooms, sports facilities, joint activity rooms, and various other supporting facilities designed to meet student needs.
The Governor of North Sulawesi, Olly Dondokambey, expressed his hope that through the construction of AMN in Manado, a conducive environment could be created for students from various regions in Indonesia to study, be creative and collaborate. It is hoped that the diverse backgrounds of students living at AMN will enrich their insight and develop a strong sense of tolerance and national spirit. It is also hoped that the character and discipline education instilled in AMN can form a strong spirit of nationalism among students.
AMN development in Manado does not only focus on providing physical facilities, but also on developing students’ soft skills. Training and personal development programs will be held regularly at AMN to help students develop leadership, communication and teamwork skills. Apart from that, cultural and religious activities will also be held to strengthen relationships between students and enrich their experience while staying at AMN.
Head of Sub-Directorate Region III Directorate of Strategic Infrastructure of the PUPR Ministry, Endra Bekti, revealed that efforts to accelerate the construction of AMN Manado continue to be carried out together with contractors. The development progress continues to be monitored and evaluated regularly to ensure that each stage of development goes according to plan. This is important to ensure that AMN can operate immediately and provide benefits for students.
The development of AMN is part of the government’s grand vision to create superior and highly competitive human resources. Through AMN, the government hopes to create a young generation who is not only academically intelligent, but also has strong character and strong leadership skills. In this way, it is hoped that AMN can become the birthplace of future leaders who will lead Indonesia towards better progress.
Community participation in supporting AMN development in Manado is very important. This support is not only in the form of moral support, but also active participation in various activities held around AMN. The community is expected to be involved in various programs organized by AMN, both as participants and organizers. With support from the community, AMN development can run more smoothly and the results can be felt by all parties.
Overall, the construction of AMN in Manado is a positive step in efforts to create an inclusive and conducive learning environment for students from various regions in Indonesia. With the government’s commitment and collaboration from various parties, it is hoped that the AMN construction can be completed on time and provide maximum benefits for students. The success of AMN development in Manado will be an example for similar projects in the future and shows that with good cooperation, we can realize the big vision of creating superior and high quality human resources.
Thus, the construction of AMN in Manado will not only have a positive impact on students living there, but also on the surrounding community and the entire Indonesian nation. AMN will be a place that unites various cultural and religious backgrounds, enriches student experiences, and forms a young generation that is ready to face the challenges of the future. The government ensures that the development of AMN is on track, with the hope that this project will be an important milestone in the development of superior and highly competitive Indonesian human resources on the global stage.
