The government continues to strive to accelerate development in Papua. Not only that, the government also continues to ensure development policies that can have a direct and positive impact on all its citizens, which is the government’s main priority so far in developing Indonesia.
Moreover, during the leadership era of Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi), the government continued to aggressively carry out equitable development in all corners of the archipelago, including Papua.
So it’s not just physical, but how to really ensure that all development can be delivered very well and also have a positive impact on the OAP community is also important.
In order to ensure that the development of Papua that the government is promoting can run well, the Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia (Wapres RI), KH Ma’ruf Amin again carried out a series of working visits to the Land of Papua directly from 3 to 7 June 2024.
According to the spokesperson for the Vice President, Masduki Baidlowi, this working visit is the sixth and fifth during Ma’ruf Amin’s tenure as Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia.
Of course, the many working visits that the government has even carried out directly to meet and meet face to face with people in Papua, indicates that the state is paying great attention to the easternmost province of the country.
On his sixth working visit, the Vice President also aimed to complete the remaining provinces in the Papua region which had not been visited on previous occasions.
The visit that KH Ma’ruf Amin made is part of the Government’s great efforts and strong commitment to continue to encourage the acceleration of development and prosperity in the Papua region.
One of them is that the government really wants to ensure that the Master Plan for the Acceleration of Development for Papua (RIPPP) and also the Action Plan for the Acceleration of Development for Papua (RAPPP) can be implemented very well and can have a direct impact on OAP.
Furthermore, there are also a number of important agendas for the visit, namely the Vice President going to Merauke to hold meetings with regents, traditional leaders and human rights and peace activists in South Papua Province.
Not only that, but KH Ma’ruf Amin also launched various strategic projects in South Papua Province, then signed the Inauguration Inscription of the Yetetkun Cross-Border Post (PLBN) in Boven Digoel and also inaugurated the Opening of the Village Assistance Training for South Papua Province.
Next, from Wamena, the Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia headed to Sorong, Southwest Papua Province to carry out several agendas such as the inauguration of the KDEKS for Southwest Papua Province and conducting an inspection of the Malawei Fisherman’s Settlement.
The launch of the Papuan Development Acceleration Information System, RIPPP and RAPPP has also attracted the government’s attention. Of course, this working visit can have a lot of positive impacts on all people in Papua in many aspects such as infrastructure development, community empowerment and improving the local economy.
The government continues to show very high commitment to fully support and accelerate the implementation of development in the Land of Papua in order to realize equitable development and increase the level of welfare for all people in Indonesia without exception.
The direct presence of the Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia to the area nicknamed Little Heaven that Fell to Earth is a concrete manifestation of the government’s efforts to really see the problems of the people in Papua directly so that they can find concrete and effective solutions in handling them.
Meanwhile, Deputy Minister of Home Affairs (Wamendagri) Dr. John Wempi Wetipo, during his direct visit to Southwest Papua Province, in order to monitor progress in the development of the region, also held meetings with various parties such as the Regional Government, community leaders, and security forces such as the TNI and Polri.
The meeting of various parties aims to evaluate and ensure that various development programs can run in accordance with the plans and needs of the local community.
Pangdam XVIII/Kasuari, Major General TNI Haryanto conveyed his strong commitment to continue to fully support every development program launched by the government. Because the acceleration of development can improve the welfare of the OAP community.
On this occasion, the Deputy Minister of Home Affairs also expressed very high appreciation for the active role and performance of local security forces to continue to maintain security stability and support the development of Papua. So far, the government has not only been careless in carrying out development, but has also followed up on development that is underway or has been implemented by ensuring that it is able to bring many positive benefits, especially to the OAP community directly for the sake of improving their welfare.
