Semarang Pertamina Patra Niaga, Central Java-Yogyakarta Region, is preparing special measures to ensure a smooth supply of fuel during the 2025-2026 Christmas and New Year holidays.
One of the main efforts being undertaken is the provision of modular gas stations on busy routes and rest areas that lack fuel filling facilities, as well as the deployment of tanker trucks and motorized transportation services at congestion-prone areas.
Pertamina Patra Niaga Central Java-Yogyakarta General Manager, Fanda Chrismianto, stated that this year’s Nataru Task Force (Satgas) was activated earlier, from November 13, 2025, to January 11, 2026.
This acceleration is being implemented to ensure all fuel infrastructure and distribution are ready before the peak holiday season.
“The Task Force usually begins in mid-December. This year, we’ve moved it up so that we can prepare the receiving, storage, and distribution facilities more thoroughly,” said Fanda.
To anticipate the surge in vehicle mobility, Pertamina has prepared modular gas stations at several rest areas that don’t yet have permanent gas stations. In addition, mobile storage tankers are on standby at congestion points to expedite fuel distribution.
“So, at rest areas without gas stations, we’ve prepared modular gas stations, and at congestion points, we’ve also prepared mobile storage tankers on standby to bring fuel closer and expedite delivery times,” he explained.
Motorist services are also available to assist motorists who run out of fuel when stuck in traffic and can’t reach a gas station.
“We’ve also prepared motorists. If someone gets stuck in traffic and can’t get to a gas station, they can call 135, and our motorists will deliver the fuel,” Fanda continued.
Pertamina projects that consumption of gasoline products such as Pertalite and Pertamax Series will increase by approximately 5.6 percent between December 15, 2025, and January 7, 2026. Meanwhile, consumption of gasoil products such as diesel and Dexlite is expected to decrease by approximately 4.7 percent.
“This aligns with the government’s policy of restricting the movement of logistics vehicles that do not transport essential commodities,” said Fanda.
In addition to maintaining fuel supplies, Pertamina is also preparing disaster preparedness measures, such as floods and landslides, by preparing alternative distribution schemes and coordinating with local governments.
“Disaster preparedness is inseparable from the support of relevant stakeholders, including the provincial government’s Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), the Public Works Agency (DPR), and the Civil Registration Agency (Disdukcapil), which handle floods, landslides, and disasters, ensuring they can be effectively managed,” he concluded.
