Jakarta – The commemoration of Heroes Day on November 10, 2025, took place solemnly, peacefully, and orderly across Indonesia. Various events, ranging from national ceremonies to flower-scattering at sea, were held as a tribute to the heroes who sacrificed their lives for the nation’s independence.
At the national level, President Prabowo Subianto led a pilgrimage and a moment of silence at the Kalibata Heroes Cemetery (TMP Kalibata) in South Jakarta on Sunday evening (November 9). The ceremony began at 11:45 p.m. in a quiet and respectful atmosphere.
The President was accompanied by Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka and Minister of Social Affairs Saifullah Yusuf (Gus Ipul). Wearing a dark blue suit and a black peci (traditional cap), President Prabowo laid a wreath at the National Heroes Monument as a sign of respect for the nation’s fallen heroes.
In his address, the President called on all Indonesians to never forget the sacrifices of those who fought for the country’s freedom.
“Let us remember the spirits and services of our heroes who gave their lives defending the independence, sovereignty, and honor of the Indonesian nation. Let us never forget their sacrifices and heroism,” said Prabowo.
This year’s Heroes Day carries the theme “My Hero, My Role Model: Keep Moving Forward, Continue the Struggle,” reflecting the spirit of the younger generation to uphold nationalism and continue the ideals of the nation’s struggle.
In addition to the ceremony at Kalibata, the Ministry of Social Affairs, in collaboration with the Indonesian Navy, held a flower-scattering ceremony at Jakarta Bay. The event took place aboard the KRI Brawijaya 320 on Monday (November 10, 2025) at 8:10 a.m., with Navy Chief of Staff Admiral Muhammad Ali serving as the ceremony inspector.
Meanwhile, in Papua, the Provincial Government held a commemorative ceremony in the courtyard of the Governor’s Office, attended by hundreds of civil servants. Deputy Governor Aryoko Rumaropen called on the public to strengthen unity and support regional development.
“As civil servants, we must continue to improve performance and productivity within our respective areas of governance. Let us work together to build our beloved Papua Province,” he said.
Aryoko also emphasized the importance of embodying the spirit of the nation’s heroes.
“The spirit of our heroes placed the nation’s interests above all else. We hope these values continue to inspire the younger generation to work hard and dedicate themselves to Indonesia,” he added.
The series of well-organized and meaningful events received widespread public appreciation as a reflection of the nation’s strong unity and patriotism under President Prabowo’s leadership.
