The development of the Indonesian Capital City (IKN) in East Kalimantan continues to show significant progress and triggers increasingly strong optimism for the future of Indonesia. In a relatively short time, various construction projects in the IKN have achieved important milestones that confirm the commitment of the government and the private sector in realizing this grand vision. Here are some facts that highlight important achievements in the development of the IKN.
One of the greatest achievements in the development of the IKN is the progress of the construction of the IKN Vertical Hospital which has now reached 63.02 percent. This achievement was achieved since the laying of the first stone by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) in December 2023. This hospital will be one of the leading health facilities in the IKN, providing quality health services for residents and workers in this area.
The hospital building was built with a modern and futuristic concept, prioritizing aesthetic and environmentally friendly design. The use of renewable energy from Solar Power Plants (PLTS) is one of the important innovations in supporting environmental sustainability. With complete facilities and adequate number of beds, this hospital is expected to become the main health service center in IKN.
Head of the IKN Infrastructure Development Implementation Task Force, Danis H Sumadilaga, expressed his pride in this achievement. He emphasized that the construction of the Ministry of Health’s IKN hospital in the Core Area of the Government Center as of July 29 had reached 63.02 percent. This statement underlines the belief that the construction of health facilities in the IKN is going according to plan and will become one of the important pillars in the IKN infrastructure.
In addition, Hermina IKN Hospital has also recorded significant progress with physical progress reaching 60 percent. Planned to start operating on August 17, 2024, this hospital will provide complete and modern health services for the IKN community. With adequate bed facilities and the latest medical equipment, Hermina Hospital will be one of the main choices for health services in IKN.
Another proud achievement in the construction of the IKN is the achievement of PT Adhi Persada Gedung (APG) which successfully won an award from the Indonesian World Record Museum (MURI) for the construction of the fastest ready-to-occupy construction worker housing. This project was completed in just 227 hours, 30 minutes, and 07 seconds, or around 9.5 days.
President Director of PT Adhi Persada Gedung, Isman Widodo, expressed his appreciation and pride for this achievement. It was emphasized that this achievement not only proves APG’s technical capabilities, but also its dedication to innovation and efficiency in the construction industry. This success is supported by the use of modular volumetrix Mobile Box (Mobox) technology, which allows for accelerated construction without sacrificing quality or safety.
With Mobox technology, APG is able to provide fast and quality housing solutions for construction workers. This is a big step in realizing our vision to become a pioneer in the construction of high-rise buildings in Indonesia, said Isman. This statement illustrates APG’s commitment to continue to innovate and make real contributions to the development of national infrastructure.
In addition to technical achievements, development projects in the IKN also have a significant impact on economic growth in East Kalimantan. The increasingly intensive construction activities in the IKN have driven the province’s economic growth by 5.85 percent in the second quarter of 2024 compared to the same period the previous year.
Head of the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) of East Kalimantan, Yusniar Juliana, stated that the physical achievements of development in the IKN have experienced significant acceleration. He explained that the achievements of the construction of batch-1 of the IKN in the form of supporting facilities and a number of office buildings had reached 88 percent by June 2024. This statement shows the importance of the IKN project in driving local economic growth and creating job opportunities for the local community.
In addition, the development of basic infrastructure in the IKN, such as housing for State Civil Apparatus (ASN), TNI, and Polri, as well as the arrangement of green spaces and the completeness of the national axis, also recorded significant physical achievements. These projects not only prepare the IKN as a new center of government, but also create jobs for thousands of local workers and support economic development in the area.
These achievements strengthen the optimism that the development of the IKN can achieve the targets that have been set. With the rapid progress that continues to take place, the IKN is not only a symbol of Indonesia’s modernization and progress, but also a real proof of the government’s long-term vision to create a new center of government that is efficient, sustainable, and inclusive.
IKN is not just a physical project, but also an effort to build a better future for all Indonesian people. With adequate health facilities, decent housing for workers, and significant economic growth, IKN will be a center of progress that brings positive impacts to the entire country.
The success of these projects also reflects the synergy between the government, private sector, and society in realizing shared ideals. With increasing optimism, the IKN will continue to grow and develop, bringing Indonesia into a new era full of opportunities and hopes.
