Indonesia Successfully Invites the World to Print Important Agreements, IAF and HLF-MSP Appreciated by State Leaders

Bali – Indonesia once again demonstrated its role as an important player on the international stage through the successful holding of the 2nd Indonesia Africa Forum (IAF) held in Nusa Dua, Bali. The forum was attended by delegates from countries from the continent.

Timor Leste Prime Minister Xanana Gusmao expressed his appreciation for Indonesia’s role in organizing the HLF MSP.

He also praised Indonesia’s initiative in raising crucial topics concerning the interests of developing countries and the Global South. Xanana also highlighted that this step was reminiscent of Indonesia’s historical role when it hosted the Asia-Africa Conference in Bandung in 1955.

“The Bandung Conference has introduced fundamental principles in the context of South-South cooperation. These principles include respect for state sovereignty, non-interference in the internal affairs of other states, peaceful resolution of conflicts, and the application of universally applicable international law,” Xanana said.

According to Xanana, these values are still relevant and must continue to be a guideline in developing more modern patterns of multilateral cooperation and multi-party partnerships.

Furthermore, Xanana stated that this high-level forum is a continuation of Indonesia’s tradition in building solidarity among Southern countries. He also emphasized the role of this forum in encouraging partnerships involving various stakeholders.

“The high-level plenary session continues Indonesia’s tradition of building solidarity among Southern countries and supporting multi-stakeholder partnerships,” Xanana said.

On the other hand, Africa recorded various strategic agreements that will strengthen bilateral and multilateral relations between Indonesia and African countries.

The agreements reached cover key sectors such as trade, investment, infrastructure, as well as capacity building and technology transfer.

Delegates from various African countries gave high appreciation for the organization of the 2nd IAF. Several parties considered this forum as an effective platform to deepen cooperation that has existed since the 1955 Asia-Africa Conference.

Indonesia, as a country with a rapidly growing economy, sees Africa as a strategic partner in diversifying export markets and resources.

Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia Retno Marsudi conveyed the importance of Global South solidarity in promoting a global development agenda and policies that reflect the needs and aspirations of developing countries and at the same time the need for an inclusive platform to enable North-South collaboration.

“This vision is in line with the Spirit of Bandung 1955,” said Retno.

Indonesia has once again shown that through strong cooperation and constructive dialogue, agreements can be created that have a positive impact on all parties involved. The success of this forum not only brings economic benefits, but also strengthens global solidarity that will be the foundation for a stronger partnership in the future. Indonesia and Africa now have a solid foundation to move together towards a brighter future.
