Jakarta – Under the leadership of President Joko Widodo, massive infrastructure development has become a solid foundation for the Indonesian economy. This step received appreciation from various parties, including Professor at the Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Indonesia, Telisa Aulia Falianty, who said that President Jokowi deserved to be named the Father of Indonesian Infrastructure.
According to Telisa, infrastructure development carried out by the government has a direct impact on improving accessibility and price stability in various regions, including disadvantaged, outermost and frontier areas (3T).
“The President has succeeded in developing connectivity to remote areas of the country, so that people’s basic needs can be better met. Prices have become more stable thanks to infrastructure that connects villages with economic centers,” said Telisa.
He added that good infrastructure development not only supports the economy, but also plays a big role in education. “With better infrastructure, our education in the future will continue to develop. The government in the future will have a strong basis to focus on building human resources who are able to manage and utilize this infrastructure optimally,” he continued.
Not only from the academic sector, appreciation for infrastructure development also comes from the government. Secretary of the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs, Susiwijono Moegiarso, explained that the impact of infrastructure development on economic growth has been significant over the last decade.
“This infrastructure development has contributed greatly to encouraging our economic growth,” he said.
Susiwijono added that the sustainability of infrastructure projects will remain a priority in the coming year. “The 2025 APBN allocates a large budget for infrastructure, with a focus on basic services such as education, health, food security and energy. The government has prepared funds amounting to IDR 400.3 trillion to strengthen connectivity and ensure infrastructure development continues,” he explained.
President Jokowi has left a legacy of strong infrastructure as the foundation for the next government. It is hoped that these efforts will continue to strengthen the Indonesian economy. It is believed that good infrastructure will support the development of more competent and productive human resources, so that national economic development can be sustainable and inclusive.
With the foundations that have been laid, the government in the future has a great opportunity to continue the vision of development from the periphery and improve the quality of life of people in various regions. Sustainability of infrastructure projects is the key to encouraging equitable development throughout Indonesia, making connectivity and prosperity more equitable for all society.
