Jakarta – Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment (Menko Marves) Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan said that the 2024 Indonesia International Sustainability Forum (ISF) is very relevant to current global conditions related to sustainability issues.
“As a developing country, Indonesia has a unique narrative and an important role in supporting global climate action. With a friendly tropical climate, it welcomes participants from various countries,” said Luhut at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC), Jakarta, Thursday (5/9).
According to him, ISF 2024 is not only discussing the challenges of the climate crisis, but also a platform for innovation, collaboration, and hope. Indonesia is leading sustainable development through reforestation and renewable energy investment.
“This forum is not only about discussing the challenges of the climate crisis, but also a platform for innovation, collaboration, and hope. Indonesia is leading sustainable development through reforestation and renewable energy investment,” he said.
He added that this Initiative protects the environment, empowers communities, and maintains the right to grow and prosper.
“Each country has a different starting point in the energy transition, so collaboration is key in the sustainability agenda,” Luhut added.
For the record, more than 11,000 participants from 53 countries have registered for ISF 2024, including ministers from neighboring countries and top world CEOs. There will be plenary sessions, thematic discussions, and high-level dialogues, with the signing of MoUs in the areas of energy transition and sustainability. ISF 2025 will be held in Bali with a bigger agenda, including a sea expedition.
