A Susi Air pilot named Philip Mehrtens is still a hostage to the Separatist and Terrorist Group (KST). However, the automatic public will soon be found. The reason for this is because the KST is increasingly cornered in its position and the authorities are increasingly diligent in eradicating the separatist group.
KST carries out terror and disturbs the community. Even their attacks were indiscriminate. The public is asked to be vigilant and careful when doing activities outside the home. If there is an attack by the KST, they are encouraged to immediately report it to the security forces, so that they can be dealt with immediately.
Apart from terrorizing Papuans, KST also set fire to the Susi Air plane and kidnapped the pilot. Until now, Philip Mehrtens, the pilot, has not been released. The security forces continued to be deployed for the KST hunting mission, to eradicate them and at the same time free the pilot.
Currently, the KST leader Egianus Kogoya has been cornered and his position is known. Papua Police Chief Inspector General Pol Mathius D Fakhiri revealed, the location of the KST escapees was only in two areas, namely Nduga and Lenny Jaya Regencies. Egianus and his group, only moved from district to district in the two districts.
Inspector General Pol Mathius added, Egianus Kogoya entered (District) Nduga, starting from (District) Paro, Mugi, Yige, Yugoru. So in these two areas he is indeed more in control.
In a sense, the position of KST led by Egianus Kogoya is known and the security forces are continuing to hunt for them. The pursuit was carried out not only for the KST dissolution mission. However, the main mission is to arrest Egianus Kogoya and free Philip Mehrtens.
People are optimistic that Philip Mehrtens will soon be found and returned to his country in New Zealand. The cause was because Egianus Kogoya’s position as the kidnapper was already known. With the strategy of the joint military and police team, the public is optimistic that the pilot will be released soon.
Meanwhile, National Police Chief Gen. Listyo S. Prabowo stated that the Carstensz Peace Operation team in Papua would be deployed to rescue the Susi Air pilot who was being held hostage by KST in Paro District, Nduga Regency, Papua.
General Listyo S. Prabowo continued, currently he is currently being searched. The joint team from Operation Peace Carstensz is currently conducting a search operation. The results will be informed further.
In a sense, the government did not remain silent when KST took the pilot of the plane hostage. Even though he is a foreign citizen, he still has to be saved, because the incident happened in Indonesia. Safety must come first.
KST must be dealt with firmly so that it doesn’t go around kidnapping and burning planes. What’s more, what was burned was a commercial plane, not owned by the government (a state-owned company), so it had nothing to do with the central government.
The Joint Team of Carstensz Peaceful Operations continues to search the Nduga area and its surroundings and they are determined to find the KST headquarters, which is suspected to be where the victims were hiding. The search continues for Philip Mehrtens to return safely.
When later meeting with the KST, the apparatus is allowed to take decisive, measurable action. The reason is because they are terrorists who have the heart to burn planes and kidnap pilots ruthlessly, and threaten to take their lives. Only with firm action can KST be eradicated and it will not repeat its crimes.
Egianus Kogoya as the leader of KST must be responsible for releasing the victims including the pilot. To deal with the KST led by Egianus Kogoya, it is permissible to take decisive, measured actions. The reason is because when dealing with KST, the lives of the security forces will be threatened, because they always attack brutally.
The security forces continued their mission to find Egianus Kogoya. Especially when the position is known in any regency/district, and it makes the search very easy. With this important information, the authorities will spread to arrest Egianus Kogoya as well as free Philip Mehrtens.
When the KST is increasingly cornered, the apparatus will benefit because first, they already know their position. Second, it was suspected that KST was cornered because of the difficulty in finding food ingredients. So far they have not been able to rely on forest products, but have often attacked and robbed Papuans so they can eat. This indicated that the KST were exhausted in the guerrillas and had difficulty finding food sources.
Then, the apparatus also tried to cut off the supply of KST logistics. In this way, it is hoped that Egianus Kogoya and his men will come out of hiding, and Capt. Phillips will soon be released.
Until now, the operation to free the Susi Air pilot is still being carried out. Egianus Kogoya’s position as kidnapper has been found and he is roaming in 2 regions of Papua. With this discovery, the security forces became even more enthusiastic in pursuing KST, and worked hard to get Philip Mehrtens released immediately.
