Legal and bureaucratic reform in Indonesia is an important issue that continues to develop along with the dynamics of society and increasingly complex global challenges. In this context, the President-elect and Vice President-elect Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka are figures who are committed to bringing real change to the nation. A systematic and planned approach is an effort to reform existing laws and bureaucracy, in order to create a government that is more efficient and responsive to the needs of the people. This effort is not just rhetoric, but is realized through concrete steps designed to improve the quality of public services and strengthen public trust in state institutions.
One of the main focuses of the reforms proposed by Prabowo and Gibran is the simplification of bureaucratic procedures. In the digital era like today, society increasingly demands transparency and ease in accessing public services. By implementing a service system based on information technology, the Prabowo-Gibran government seeks to reduce the time and costs required to obtain permits or other services. For example, by developing an integrated public service application, the public can easily take care of various administrative needs only through the devices they have. This approach will not only speed up the process, but also reduce the potential for corruption that often occurs in a convoluted bureaucracy.
The legal reforms proposed by Prabowo and Gibran also emphasize the importance of fair and equitable law enforcement because they are aware that public trust in legal institutions is highly dependent on how effectively the law is enforced. In this case, the existence of a commitment arises to strengthen law enforcement institutions and ensure that every individual, without exception, receives equal protection before the law. One of the concrete steps planned is to increase training and education for law enforcement officers, to ensure that there is adequate capacity and integrity to carry out their duties. In addition, increasing access to justice is also a priority, by providing legal services that are more easily accessible to the community, especially in remote areas.
The General Chairperson of the Logis 08 Central Leadership Council, Anshar Ilo, said that his party is optimistic about Prabowo Subianto’s leadership as President. According to Anshar Ilo, after being inaugurated on October 20, Prabowo will move quickly to lead the government and at the same time ensure that all visions, missions and programs conveyed during the campaign in the 2024 Presidential Election can be executed properly. In addition, Anshar also said that with the grand vision of Together with Advanced Indonesia, Towards Golden Indonesia 2045, as well as the 8 Asta Cita missions and 17 priority programs, it adds to the belief that Indonesia under Prabowo’s leadership will be more advanced and equal to other developed countries in the world.
Prabowo and Gibran understand that legal and bureaucratic reform cannot be separated from efforts to empower the community and believe that community participation in the decision-making process is very important to create policies that are in accordance with the needs of the people. Therefore, the Prabowo-Gibran government strives to continue to involve the community in every stage of reform, from planning to evaluation. In this way, it is hoped that the community will feel ownership and responsibility for the policies produced, thereby increasing government accountability.
Then in the economic context, the legal and bureaucratic reforms carried out by Prabowo and Gibran are expected to create a more conducive investment climate. With a clear and transparent legal system, as well as an efficient bureaucracy, it is hoped that investors, both domestic and foreign, will be more confident in investing in Indonesia. As stability and legal certainty are the main factors in attracting investment, which in turn will have a positive impact on economic growth and job creation.
Meanwhile, Minister of Finance (Menkeu), Sri Mulyani Indrawati said that the legal and bureaucratic reforms proposed by Prabowo and Gibran are very necessary steps to improve the efficiency of government and public services. With a more transparent system and simplified procedures, we will not only facilitate public access to government services, but also create a better investment climate. It is important for us to ensure that every policy taken supports economic growth and people’s welfare.
In addition, the proposed reforms also highlight the importance of collaboration between government institutions. Prabowo and Gibran plan to create synergy between various ministries and institutions in order to address complex problems, such as poverty, social injustice, and climate change. With a cross-sector approach, it is hoped that every policy taken will be more holistic and integrated, so that it can provide more effective solutions for the community.
Overall, Prabowo and Gibran’s concrete steps in carrying out legal and bureaucratic reforms are a form of commitment to creating a more efficient, transparent, and accountable Indonesia. With an approach based on technology, community participation, and collaboration between institutions, the Prabowo-Gibran government hopes to provide better public services and restore public trust in the government.
