MBG Distribution for the 3B Group Strengthened Through Posyandu

Jakarta – The government is strengthening the distribution of the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) program for the 3B group—pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, and toddlers—through posyandu community health networks across various regions. This scheme is expected to ensure that nutritional assistance reaches the intended beneficiaries more accurately while also reaching families most in need.

In the Palmerah area of Jakarta, cadres of the Posyandu Kemala XVI-11 Palmerah in Palmerah regularly distribute meals every day to beneficiaries from the 3B group in their area. The program helps ensure that the nutritional needs of the community, especially vulnerable groups, are properly fulfilled.

The coordinator of the toddler posyandu, Muslika, said that the cadres have directly felt the positive impact of the program. For the posyandu volunteers in Palmerah, the activity is not merely a daily routine. Behind the distribution of food menus and the recording of beneficiaries lies a strong spirit of mutual cooperation and social care to ensure that children, breastfeeding mothers, and the elderly receive proper nutrition.

“We, the cadres of Posyandu Kemala XVI-11 Palmerah, truly feel the benefits of the MBG program. We also distribute food every day for toddlers, the elderly, and breastfeeding mothers,” Muslika said.

In practice, the distribution is carried out in a structured manner, starting from posts at the RW (community unit) level and then moving down to RT (neighborhood units). Food menus are collected from the RW post, then distributed to toddler posyandu cadres and the Dasawisma network before finally reaching beneficiaries in each RT.

“Every day we collect the menu from the post at the RW level. After that, the food is distributed to each RT through toddler posyandu cadres and Dasawisma. RT administrators then deliver it to the beneficiary toddlers,” Muslika explained.

For parents who work during the day, administrators have also prepared a container deposit system so that meals can still be received. This mechanism ensures that no beneficiary is left out of the distribution process.

“Usually some parents are working, so they leave a container with us. We transfer the food into that container, and the mother can pick it up later when she has time,” she added.

Beneficiary data has also been neatly recorded in each RT, ensuring that the distribution process remains on target. “The data of beneficiaries is already available in each RT,” Muslika added.

Meanwhile, in Pontianak, the city government also supports various community-oriented programs implemented through posyandu cadres and the PKK network. The Mayor of Pontianak, Edi Rusdi Kamtono, said that the local government continues to support family development and maternal and child health programs, including the MBG initiative for the 3B group.

“The Pontianak City Government has long supported activities that directly engage the community, through PKK, posyandu, and related regional offices,” he said.

He noted that geographically, Pontianak does not face major challenges in distributing MBG. However, he acknowledged that public outreach is still necessary to avoid misunderstandings in the field. In this regard, posyandu and PKK cadres in the region play a crucial role.

“Yes, this still requires socialization. There are several aspects that we need to clearly explain to the public,” he concluded.
