Opening ISF 2024 Series, Indonesia Encourages Real Action for Earth Sustainability

JAKARTA — The International Sustainability Forum (ISF) 2024 is a momentum for all parties to take real action for the earth.

The opening of ISF 2024 on September 5, 2024 marks an initial step towards realizing a strong global commitment to a greener and more sustainable future.

Taking place in Jakarta, the world forum brought together many parties, including world leaders, experts, industry players and the global community to come together and unite in an effort to save the earth from the environmental crisis.

Many parties are very much hoping that ISF 2024 will be an event to further strengthen international commitment and collaboration in facing increasingly pressing environmental challenges.

Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment of the Republic of Indonesia, Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, hopes that the 2024 International Sustainability Forum will be able to produce various agreements.

“I am confident that this year’s ISF will be a platform that facilitates international collaboration to increase access to green finance, as well as a knowledge sharing process to improve the capabilities of human resources who are ready to embrace the Net Zero future,” he said.

“This forum will also be an inclusive sustainability forum for all levels of society,” added Luhut.

Meanwhile, Deputy for Infrastructure and Transportation Coordination, Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Investment, Rachmat Kaimuddin said that he was very impressed with the enthusiasm of the 2024 ISF registrants.

For him, the International Sustainability Forum 2024 itself is proof of Indonesia’s strong commitment to prioritizing the spirit of collaboration in formulating climate solutions that are just and mutually respectful.

“ISF is one proof of Indonesia’s commitment to prioritizing the spirit of collaboration in formulating equitable climate solutions based on the principle of mutual respect,” said Rachmat.

“Forums like ISF are very important because the world needs a platform to realize action and innovation,” he added.

On the same occasion, Deputy Chairperson for the Coordinator of Maritime Affairs, Investment and Foreign Affairs of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Shinta Widjaja Kamdani said that ISF 2024 was able to produce strategic solutions to answer various challenges.

Because, the event brings together various stakeholders including those in the global energy transition sector, so it is not impossible that the implementation of sustainable business practices, especially from the funding side, will occur.

“ISF 2024 is an important opportunity to strengthen the collective commitment of the business world as a key driver in mobilizing green funding,” he said.

“There will be concrete outcomes, including collaborative initiatives to bridge the sustainable funding gap, as well as opportunities for domestic industries to showcase their sustainable and environmentally friendly projects to global stakeholders and investors,” Shinta said.
