Bali – Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) said that delegates to the 10th World Water Forum (WWF) could enjoy the uniqueness of Balinese culture which is very thick with local wisdom while taking part in this event.
This was conveyed by President Jokowi while welcoming the presence of all delegates and participants of the 10th WWF while in Nusa Dua Bali.
On the same occasion, President Jokowi invited all participants present to work together to find solutions to various global water problems.
“Given various global water challenges such as scarcity, pollution and natural disasters due to climate change, Indonesia wants to make water a source of prosperity and peace, not a source of conflict,” said Jokowi.
Since the beginning, the Indonesian government has designed various agendas that present various side events to support this event. Starting from the Balinese water purification ceremony to art and cultural exhibitions.
In a separate place, the Head of Division V of the 10th Fair and Expo World Water Forum and the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf), Sandiaga Uno, expressed the main support provided by the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, namely facilitating delegates to experience the Melukat procession which has spiritual meaning for the Balinese people .
Apart from that, Sandiaga Uno said that the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy also participated in the Indonesia Pavilion by providing tourism content with virtual reality (VR), selling low carbon tour packages, and a series of Fair and Expo.
“Providing Wonderful Indonesia souvenirs and goodie bags, presenting content and activating the game, namely “Lokapala”, as well as exhibiting and selling selected and quality MSME products through planograms,” he explained.
“With this international scale event, local business actors and MSMEs can make the most of this momentum so that they can increase their income which can automatically encourage an increase in Bali’s local economy,” concluded Sandiaga.
