The Free Papua Organization is an organization established in 1965 to end the current provincial and provincial governments of Papua and West Papua in Indonesia, formerly known as Irian Jaya and to separate from Indonesia. This movement was banned in Indonesia, and led to independence for the province resulting in accusations of betrayal. Since its inception the Free Papua Movement has taken diplomatic dialogue, held a Morning Star flag raising ceremony, and carried out militant actions as part of the Papua conflict. Supporters routinely display the Morning Star flag and other symbols of Papuan unity, such as the national anthem “Hai Tanahku Papua” and the national symbol, which was adopted in the period 1961 until Indonesian rule began in May 1963 under the New York Agreement.

The two groups above are elements of armed organizations fighting for Papuan independence so they can have the right to self-determination. Their movements often lead to gunfights between the security forces and the armed groups. In fact, as the proverb says that everything done through violence will not produce anything, at least the results obtained will be above the sacrifice and suffering of others. The question is, until when will this continue? Why does Papua question independence so much that it must use weapons. The issue of independence is experienced by all countries, especially those that make the characteristics of society a difference that cannot be tolerated. But keep in mind that Indonesia is one that stands above national differences. Remember, the motto that is highly respected by the leaders of our nation is, different but still one, are in a single unit, namely the Indonesian nation.
