The community is at the forefront of dealing with the Corona virus. By increasing public compliance with the Health Protocol and various Covid-19 prevention programs, the number of positive cases can be suppressed and Indonesia can be free from the pandemic.
How is Corona in Indonesia? For almost 2 years we have been forced to adapt during the pandemic. Indeed, lately the situation has been relatively safe and there are no more areas with red zone status, but you still have to be vigilant because the Corona variant of Omicron has entered Indonesia. The mutated virus is claimed to be able to spread 5 times faster.
So how do we deal with Corona so that it doesn’t go crazy and makes us crazy about it? We can’t just rely on doctors, epidemic experts and governments. The reason is because they cannot work if they are not assisted by the community and there must be synergy so that the pandemic situation ends quickly.
The General Chair of the Indonesian Doctors Association (IDI) Dr. Daeng M Faqih, invites the public to be at the forefront of dealing with Corona, especially to overcome the Omicron variant. The trick is to discipline health protocols and vaccinations.
In a sense, the public can be heroes in tackling the Corona Omicron, because healthy habits will form healthy citizens as well. Don’t just go around and think things are safe, but secretly become OTG and then languish in a hospital bed. Be proactive and don’t just rely on the government because cooperation will make Corona quickly overcome.
Health protocols are the most important condition in overcoming Corona because by obeying them we can minimize the spread of this dangerous disease. Unfortunately, lately many have been negligent and lazy to wear masks, even though masks are the main guard from Corona transmission.
Doctors recommend wearing a good quality mask such as N95 to prevent the entry of droplets containing Corona Omicron. Don’t forget to coat the disposable mask with a cloth mask for stronger filtration. Also bring a spare mask because a mask can only be worn for a maximum of 4 hours.
Also obey other health protocols such as washing hands, keeping a distance, changing clothes, bathing, maintaining body immunity, keeping the environment clean, and especially avoiding crowds. When there is a party invitation, work around it by arriving early so that guests are not too crowded. Also don’t travel because violating health protocols reduces mobility.
In addition to complying with health protocols, the next step to deal with Corona is that people must be vaccinated. There should be no reason to refuse it, because the vaccine is very safe, even for the elderly, pregnant women, and breastfeeding mothers. Currently, children aged 6 to 11 years are also vaccinated, so they can learn face-to-face without being overshadowed by Corona transmission.
If there is an opportunity for a vaccine, then take this golden opportunity, because it is free of charge by the government. Also, don’t choose vaccine brands because they are all equally good for increasing the body’s immunity from Corona attacks, especially the Omicron variant.
Currently, almost all require mandatory vaccines, from going to the mall to driving long distances. So if you don’t get vaccinated, it will be difficult for yourself. Remember that by being vaccinated, you are at the forefront of tackling Corona, because it accelerates the formation of group immunity.
To deal with Corona, especially the Omicron variant, the community must be at the forefront. Don’t even ignore it but still obey the points in the health protocol. In addition, vaccination is still mandatory to avoid Corona because the body’s immunity increases. There must be good cooperation between the community, the government and health workers, so that the pandemic ends quickly.
