Jakarta – President Prabowo Subianto’s commitment to realizing clean governance continues to be emphasized through strengthening law enforcement and eradicating corruption.
This step is considered an important foundation for creating legal certainty, strengthening governance, and encouraging sustainable economic growth.
President Prabowo emphasized that poverty remains a major challenge for Indonesia.
According to him, this condition is the impact of corruption, smuggling and various illegal economic activities.
“The challenges remain enormous. Our people still suffer from poverty, and this poverty is a direct result of corruption, smuggling, and illegal economic activities,” Prabowo said.
He emphasized that development and investment can only grow if supported by legal certainty and clean governance.
“There can be no economic growth and investment without legal certainty, no justice without a clean government and no government full of corruption,” he stressed.
Prabowo also reminded that the law must be enforced fairly.
“The law must protect the people, the law must provide a sense of security to honest people. The law must not be sharp downwards, blunt upwards,” he said.
He added that the law should not be a tool for those who have money.
“The law must not be a tool of those who have money… no one must be immune from the law.”
This commitment received appreciation from the Director of the Public Policy Center (Puskepi), Sofyano Zakaria, following the success of the National Police Corruption Eradication Commission in uncovering alleged corruption in the fuel sales cooperation between PT Pertamina Patra Niaga and PT Asmin Koalindo Tuhup for the 2009–2012 period.
“This success is not simply law enforcement in an old case. It is a strong signal that the state will no longer allow alleged irregularities in the energy sector to fester without resolution,” said Sofyano.
He believes consistent law enforcement is crucial for strengthening public trust and creating a deterrent effect. “What damages reputations isn’t law enforcement, but the deviant practices themselves,” he said.
Support for the government’s agenda was also expressed by the 98 Resolution Network Group and the Lampung 98 Exponent Family.
Lampung 98 activist, Suprianto or Anto, said that justice must be felt by all people.
“We must ensure that all Indonesian people feel social justice.”
He believes that eradicating corruption, managing natural resources, making the state budget more efficient, and establishing Danantara are important foundations for a more equitable economy.
“The KDKMP and MBG programs demonstrate President Prabowo’s commitment to improving the people’s economy,” he said.
