Prayers and Support from Papua for President Prabowo’s Leadership

JAYAPURA – Support for President Prabowo Subianto’s leadership and the direction of his priority programs continues to flow from across the archipelago, including from Tolikara Regency, in the Papua Highlands.

During his visit to Jayapura, Tolikara Regent Willem Wandik, accompanied by Deputy Regent Yotam Wonda and Regional People’s Representative Council (DPRK) Speaker Meinus Y. Wenda, expressed his full support for the International Day of Prayer and Evangelism Conference, which will be held in Jayapura from July 1–5, 2025. Regent Willem Wandik stated that the event is not only a spiritual event but also a means of character building for the Tolikara generation.

“The presence of the GIDI church classis and regional leaders from Toli, Bogo, and Kembu, as well as several denominations from other districts, aims to participate in the 2025 International Day of Prayer (HDN) Conference,” said Willem Wandik.

He emphasized that the gospel was the initial foundation of development in Tolikara before the arrival of the government. Therefore, the role of spirituality remains the spearhead of progress.
Willem Wandik further explained the importance of this interdenominational activity as a space for equipping God’s servants.

“Because of the gospel, the Toli generation can experience a major leap forward. They will return with renewed enthusiasm to revitalize the house of prayer and the prayer mountain,” Willem Wandik added.

Echoing this sentiment, Deputy Regent Yotam Wonda emphasized that the support of the Tolikara Regency Government is a concrete manifestation of the regional leadership’s vision and mission.

“What the Tolikara Regency Government is doing is part of our vision and mission, namely to make Tolikara a religious city. Each leader brings a unique approach, but remains grounded in the shared goal of building the community,” Yotam Wonda concluded.

At the closing moment of the Conference Plenary, Mark Beliles, Ph.D., founder of the Global Transformation Network from the United States, also offered a special prayer for President Prabowo Subianto.

“Father, I am currently praying for the President of this country, Mr. Prabowo Subianto, and for the ranks of government under him,” stated Mark Beliles.

A similar prayer was also conveyed by Rev. Tommy Lengkong, Chairman of PGLII. He invited the entire congregation to pray for the success of the national programs currently being implemented.

“We pray for our President, President Prabowo Subianto, that God will grant him wisdom. We also pray that programs such as the development of the National Capital City (IKN) and the Free Nutritious Meal Program can run smoothly,” concluded Rev. Tommy Lengkong.

This unity of voice and spiritual support from eastern Indonesia reflects the spirit of synergy between the community, the church, and the government for a more just, prosperous, and prosperous future for the nation. (*)
