In the last 10 years, President Joko Widodo’s government has recorded various important achievements in the economic sector. Despite facing major challenges, such as the Covid-19 pandemic and uncertain global dynamics, President Jokowi’s government has been able to maintain economic stability and bring about significant growth. Not just chasing statistical figures, President Jokowi is also focused on fair and equitable economic development throughout the country, with the aim of improving the welfare of all Indonesian people.
Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Airlangga Hartarto, emphasized that Indonesia’s economic achievements over the last 10 years have been very impressive. He said that after the Covid-19 pandemic, when global economic growth was only around 3 percent, Indonesia managed to double that figure. This shows that at a time when many countries are experiencing economic stagnation, Indonesia is able to emerge from the crisis stronger and more resilient.
Indonesia’s rapid economic growth is supported by various pro-investment and pro-people policies, such as increasing distribution of People’s Business Credit (KUR) and more open trade policies. Airlangga added that trade conditions showed a positive trend, and investment and credit distribution to people’s businesses continued to increase, so that real progress could be seen in the economic sector.
Apart from his domestic achievements, President Jokowi has also succeeded in maintaining balance in his foreign policy. a professional in the field of international relations and diplomacy from the National Resilience Institute, Edy Prasetyono, explained that for ten years, President Jokowi has fought for Indonesia’s economic growth in his geopolitical strategy. President Jokowi has taken a balanced approach in efforts to maintain regional stability and fight for Indonesia’s interests, especially in terms of economic growth.
President Jokowi’s pragmatic approach to international relations allows Indonesia to remain neutral amidst various geopolitical conflicts, thereby being able to maintain domestic economic stability. President Jokowi also strengthened relations with neighboring countries and various global strategic partners to ensure stable and growing trade and investment flows.
During his ten years of leadership, President Jokowi has proven his commitment to building a more just and equitable Indonesian economy. Through inclusive economic policies, equitable infrastructure development, and a balanced geopolitical strategy, President Jokowi has succeeded in bringing Indonesia towards significant progress amidst global challenges. In the future, it is hoped that the foundation that has been built can become a strong foothold for Indonesia to continue to grow into a more advanced and prosperous country.
With increasing economic growth, continuing investment, and an increasingly prosperous society, President Jokowi’s government is leaving an important legacy for future generations. The community is expected to work together to maintain and continue the development that is already underway, with the spirit of mutual cooperation and tolerance that is characteristic of the Indonesian nation.
Under President Jokowi’s leadership, equitable development is driven by the spirit of creating social justice for all Indonesian people. Chairman of APINDO Bogor City, Zulfikar, said that the economy that had been developed during President Jokowi’s administration must remain sustainable. Zulfikar also emphasized that the Jokowi government has provided a basis for people’s lives to tolerate and respect each other, so that these values must become the foundation for carrying out daily life in the state and society.
President Jokowi’s success in building a just and equitable economy is not only reflected in the high economic growth rates, but also in the strong foundations that have been laid for the future. In recent years, President Jokowi’s government has launched various programs to improve human resources, such as the Pre-Employment Card and various vocational education programs, to ensure that Indonesia’s young generation is ready to compete in the global era.
However, this success does not mean without challenges. The global economy is still characterized by uncertainty, especially due to trade wars, inflation and climate change. Therefore, it is very important for the government and society to maintain the stability that has been established during the era of President Jokowi’s administration.
Zulfikar added that the sustainability of economic development is very dependent on the security and order situation in the country. According to him, the community can help maintain this development by maintaining peace, security and order. Without social and political stability, the economy that has been built with great difficulty can be shaken.
