Papua – The government’s efforts to balance development, starting from the west to the east of Indonesia have been seen. This is realized through the Papua Youth Creative Hub (PYCH) Building which was inaugurated by President Joko Widodo by carrying out the green building concept.
The construction of PYCH is one of many facilities provided to young Papuans and Papuan people by President Jokowi and BIN Chief General Police (Purn) Budi Gunawan.
President Joko Widodo in his speech at the inauguration of the PYCH building said that the construction of this building was a platform for young Papuans to increase creativity and innovation.
“We are building this Papua youth creative hub. We want to provide opportunities for our young people who have creativity to have innovations, a great desire to work in the fields of fashion, creative industries, animal husbandry, fisheries, all of them have opportunities because I see that the opportunities in Papua are still very large. ,” said Jokowi in Papua, Tuesday (21/3/2023).
The existence of PYCH is also expected to be able to develop Papa’s young talents so that he can actively develop Cenderawasih Earth in the future.
“And we hope this can provide increased welfare and provide increased progress for the people of Papua that we love,” said the President.
On the same occasion, Head of BIN General Police (Purn.) Prof. Dr. Budi Gunawan, SH, M.Sc., Ph.D. revealed, PYCH would be a milestone for Papuan youth as a driving force for the economy and prosperity of Papua.
“PYCH’s vision and mission is the driving force for partnerships with various stake holders. We are optimistic that the results of PYCH will be global with the development of Papuan Youth Human Resources,” he said.
Meanwhile, one of the youth leaders active in PYCH, Aksamina Woisiri, revealed that the PYCH building is very useful and equipped with a number of facilities, including a futsal court with synthetic grass and a basketball court.
Aksamina said that in the PYCH building there are also rooms for MSME products, PYCH cafes, training rooms, meeting rooms, multipurpose rooms, rooms that can be used for co-working spaces, to rooms in the form of stands with a capacity of hundreds of people, which can be used for performances, religious events and others.
“There are typical Papuan ornaments for the pillars. Then there is also a room for podcasts, a music room too,” he said.
As for the PYCH building, it has a main building consisting of two floors, and two dormitory buildings. There are two dormitory buildings consisting of 46 rooms with complete bed facilities, wardrobes, en-suite bathrooms and others. Each room has a capacity of two people.
As is known, the concept of this building is a green building. This environmentally friendly building will maximize existing natural resources and not use excessive amounts of building materials.
