President Prabowo Emphasizes Equitable Prosperity, Outlines Achievements of 299 Days in Office

Jakarta — President Prabowo Subianto reiterated his administration’s commitment to ensuring prosperity is shared equally by all Indonesians, not just a select few. He made this statement in his State Address at the 2025 Annual Session of the People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR RI) at the Nusantara Building in Jakarta on Friday (August 15, 2025).

“It’s not good for the nation if only we are prosperous, while many people live in poverty. We must ensure that all citizens experience prosperity,” Prabowo said before members of the People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR), House of Representatives (DPR), and Regional Representatives Council (DPD).

The President outlined several achievements during the first 299 days of the Prabowo-Gibran administration. Economic growth in the second quarter of 2025 was recorded at 5.12 percent, while investment in the first half reached Rp942 trillion, a 13.6 percent increase from the previous year.

“This increase in investment can absorb up to 1.2 million workers,” he stressed.

In the area of poverty alleviation, the government launched the National Socioeconomic Single Data (DTSEN) as a reference for the distribution of targeted social assistance. Priority programs are also underway, such as the construction of 100 public schools, which will be expanded to 300 units, the construction of three million subsidized houses, and the implementation of the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) program for schoolchildren and pregnant women.

“The Free Nutritious Meal Program has been running well. Besides fulfilling the nutritional needs of children and mothers, it has also created new job opportunities in various regions,” said the President.

In the food sector, he expressed pride that Indonesia now has a surplus of rice and corn, and is even able to export it.

“National rice production is in surplus, with reserves exceeding four million tons. For the first time in 60 years, Indonesia is again exporting rice,” he said.

The President also emphasized measures to protect the public from practices he called “greedy economics.” He stated that the government has successfully saved Rp 300 trillion in state funds previously used for official travel and redirected it to the public interest.

In foreign policy, Indonesia officially joined BRICS and remains consistent in defending Palestine in international forums.

“We will always be at the forefront of fighting for justice and freedom for the Palestinian people,” he stressed.

Closing his speech, Prabowo called for the spirit of Indonesia Incorporated as the key to the nation’s progress.

“With the unity of all elements of the nation—the government, the business world, and the people—we will build a more just, prosperous, and sovereign Indonesia,” he concluded.

This speech is an important momentum for the Prabowo-Gibran administration to demonstrate the direction of policies that emphasize equality, economic independence, and protection for the people, in line with the target of realizing Golden Indonesia 2045.
