President Prabowo’s Briefing Becomes a Compass for National Leadership

By: Ayu Safira Lestari

President Prabowo Subianto’s briefing at the 2026 National Coordination Meeting (Rakornas) of the Central and Regional Governments underscores the direction of national leadership, emphasizing alignment, courage, and disciplined execution.

Held at the Sentul International Convention Center, Bogor, Rakornas was not merely a routine annual agenda but a strategic consolidation forum to ensure all levels of government move in unison toward the vision of Golden Indonesia 2045. The President emphasized the importance of central-regional synergy as a prerequisite for the success of national development. National policies cannot be effective without regional implementation support, while regions require clear direction and policy consistency from the center. This relationship forms the foundation for achieving major targets, including economic growth of up to 8 percent.

The briefing also highlighted the integrity of public leadership. The President asserted that Indonesians expect leaders who are fair, honest, and fully dedicated to the public interest. This expectation applies across all levels of government. Public trust is built through role modeling, the courage to reject conflicts of interest, and consistency between words and actions.

In the context of human development, the President cited the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) Program as a concrete policy that directly impacts the welfare of the people. The program not only addresses children’s nutritional needs but also stimulates the local economy through food supply chains. International attention, including from public policy experts in the United States, demonstrates that people-centered policies can become global references if implemented seriously and measurably.

Rakornas also serves as a forum to evaluate the government’s first-year performance. The President stressed the importance of budget effectiveness, program target accuracy, and alignment of central policies with the actual needs of regions. Every public fund must deliver tangible benefits, not just fulfill administrative indicators. Budget efficiency is intended to expand the impact of development rather than reduce the quality of public services.

Global dimensions also received significant attention. The President reminded that geopolitical dynamics are increasingly complex and could affect national stability. In this context, Indonesia remains committed to an independent and active foreign policy and the principle of non-alignment. This stance requires vigilance, self-reliance, and the ability to stand on its own strength.

Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian stated that Rakornas 2026 is a direct follow-up to the President’s directive to align central and regional actions in implementing the RPJMN 2025–2029. Alignment ensures that the President’s priority programs are not fragmented by differing sectoral or regional interests. Tito emphasized the readiness of all regional government officials and Forkopimda to support the President’s major agenda through concrete action in the field.

Head of the Ministry of Home Affairs Information Center Benni Irwan added that Rakornas accelerates the implementation of the President’s priority programs toward Golden Indonesia 2045 through shared perception and cross-sector coordination. Regional leaders are key actors in advancing food and energy sovereignty, inclusive economic growth, and effective, responsive governance. They must be adaptive, capable of understanding local needs, and able to translate national policy direction into concrete actions that directly impact the grassroots population.

Overall, President Prabowo’s briefing emphasizes leadership that unites vision, clarifies priorities, and demands accountability across all levels of government. Central-regional synergy is no longer just administrative jargon but a prerequisite to address increasingly complex challenges, whether economic, social, or geopolitical.

By emphasizing leadership integrity, budget efficiency, and commitment to strategic programs such as food security, MBG, and energy independence, the President underscores that development must be felt at the grassroots level. Leadership with integrity, solid coordination, and policies consistently focused on public welfare make Rakornas 2026 a national consolidation moment that guides Indonesia on the path toward Golden Indonesia 2045.
