Jakarta – President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto began a working visit to five countries in the Middle East region to strengthen strategic cooperation and encourage a resolution of the Gaza conflict through diplomatic and humanitarian channels.
“I will meet directly with the leaders of friendly countries for consultation and exchange of ideas on world geopolitical and geoeconomic developments,” said President Prabowo.
The tour includes the United Arab Emirates, Turkey, Egypt, Qatar, and Jordan. In each country, President Prabowo brought an agenda of cooperation and humanitarian missions. In Abu Dhabi, he is scheduled to meet with the President of the United Arab Emirates Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to strengthen bilateral partnerships.
“Alhamdulillah, the President has arrived in Abu Dhabi at around 6:30 local time. He is immediately scheduled to meet President MBZ and is accompanied by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Cabinet Secretary,” said Deputy for Protocol, Press, and Media of the Presidential Secretariat Yusuf Permana.
In Türkiye, President Prabowo held a one-on-one meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan at the Ankara Presidential Palace. Both agreed to strengthen strategic cooperation, especially in supporting Palestinian independence.
“We appreciate Indonesia’s stance on the Palestinian issue. We will continue to work with Indonesia to rebuild Gaza and defend the interests of the Palestinian people,” President Erdogan said in a joint statement after the meeting.
President Prabowo stated that Indonesia and Türkiye share the same view on the importance of maintaining regional stability.
“We agreed to continue working together to fight for Palestinian independence, peace in Ukraine, and stability in Syria,” President Prabowo emphasized.
In the humanitarian mission, President Prabowo also conveyed Indonesia’s readiness to evacuate 1,000 injured victims from Gaza to be treated in Indonesia, as well as continuing to send TNI medical teams to the conflict area.
This visit demonstrates Indonesia’s active role in world peace and is proof of President Prabowo’s commitment to diplomacy that is solution-oriented and based on humanity.
