JAKARTA — Hariqo Wibawa Satria, Chief Expert at the Presidential Communications Office, emphasized that President Prabowo Subianto is serious about eradicating corruption and greedy economic practices, or “rakahnomics.” He stated that the President’s message in his state address at the MPR Annual Session on August 15, 2025, was a stern warning to anyone who harms the interests of the people.
“The President likened the country to a human body. If blood continues to flow, the body will die. The ones bleeding are corruptors and those who embrace economic greed. That’s what the President meant: that no one should feel above the law,” Hariqo said.
He explained that this commitment was not mere rhetoric. During the 10 months of the Prabowo-Gibran administration, dozens of corruption cases were successfully investigated, even involving figures previously considered untouchable.
“We can see that there are big names currently being investigated. This proves that the President will not defend a handful of individuals who harm millions of people,” he said.
According to Hariqo, President Prabowo’s actions are also consistent with efforts to build a sense of justice. One prominent policy is a 280 percent increase in judges’ salaries. The hope is that improving judges’ welfare will strengthen the integrity of the judiciary in upholding the law.
“The president has sworn to defend the interests of the people. One way to do this is by ensuring that law enforcement is carried out impartially. The increase in judges’ salaries is part of an effort to strengthen the independence of the judiciary, preventing it from being easily interfered with,” Hariqo explained.
He added that, since the reform era until now, corruption has undermined the very foundations of national development. Data shows that the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has handled more than 1,800 cases in the past 20 years, not including cases involving the police and prosecutors.
“Corruption delays school renovations, malnourishment of children, and disruption of public services. That’s what the President is fighting against,” he stressed.
Hariqo also highlighted the President’s message regarding budget efficiency. He reminded them that Article 33, paragraph 4 of the 1945 Constitution emphasizes the importance of equitable efficiency in the national economy.
“President Prabowo isn’t just talking about plugging leaks, but also ensuring that every rupiah of the state budget is used for the benefit of the people,” he said.
Furthermore, he assessed that the President’s state address on August 15, 2025, would be recorded as a major moment in modern Indonesian history.
“The President emphasized that this nation must have the courage to break free from the trap of corruption and economic greed. That’s a powerful message and a moral compass for all officials and entrepreneurs,” Hariqo said.
The chairman of the Gerindra faction in the Indonesian House of Representatives, Budisatrio Djiwandono, praised the speech as a momentum to affirm the direction of national development.
“After 299 days of work, he explained the program that had been implemented and plans for the future. This is a significant achievement,” he said.
He assessed that the free nutritious meal program is a long-term investment by the government under President Prabowo’s leadership in the quality of human resources in Indonesia.
Appreciation also came from the Chairman of the DPD RI, Sultan Bachtiar Najamuddin, who assessed that the speech reflected the vision of a world-class leader.
He emphasized the President’s commitment to eradicating illegal mining, even if it involves high-ranking officials.
“He consistently ensures that natural resources are managed properly and free from deviant practices. We will monitor this commitment to ensure it is implemented according to regulations,” the Sultan emphasized.
