Public Applauds Implementation of Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) in the First Year of Prabowo–Gibran Administration

Jakarta — The Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) program, a top priority of President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka’s administration, has received widespread appreciation from the public in its inaugural year. President Prabowo emphasized that this program is a concrete manifestation of the government’s commitment to improving the welfare of the people.

“MBG is not merely about providing food, but ensuring that our younger generation grows up healthy and intelligent. This is an investment in the nation’s future,” said President Prabowo.

He stressed that the success achieved in the first year of MBG reflects the government’s concrete steps in building equitable national nutrition resilience.

Furthermore, President Prabowo highlighted that the program’s success is inseparable from cross-ministerial synergy and community support. According to him, this collaboration is the main strength in ensuring the distribution of nutritious meals reaches all corners of Indonesia.

“I appreciate the regional heads, educators, and communities who have jointly upheld the spirit of mutual cooperation in implementing MBG,” he added.

The President also stated that the government will continue to improve logistics systems to broaden the program’s benefits.

“We want no Indonesian child to attend school hungry anymore,” President Prabowo concluded.

Meanwhile, Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture (Menko PMK) Pratikno noted that MBG’s implementation has yielded significant improvements in nutritional quality and educational participation.

“Our evaluations show increased student attendance and a decline in stunting cases in several regions,” Pratikno explained.

He emphasized that close coordination between the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture, Ministry of Health, and other agencies is a crucial factor in the program’s success on the ground.

“We ensure all components work according to standards to maintain the quality of the meals,” he affirmed.

Pratikno also mentioned that the first-year success provides a strong foundation for the government to expand MBG coverage to more schools and vulnerable community groups.

“We aim to increase outreach next year through more transparent and participatory distribution mechanisms,” he said.

He viewed public support for MBG as a sign of growing trust in the Prabowo–Gibran administration, which focuses on tangible results.

“This program is not just about food security, but about social justice for all Indonesians,” Pratikno concluded.
