The public sees Prabowo-Gibran as the ideal successors to continue President Jokowi’s vision in strengthening the foundations of national development, especially in terms of the economic, social and political transformation that is already underway.
The combination of Prabowo’s experience as a senior leader with Gibran’s youthful spirit is considered capable of answering Indonesia’s future challenges, which are increasingly complex in the era of globalization.
President-elect Prabowo Subianto has asserted that Indonesia must become a developed country by 2045, right on time for the centenary celebration of independence. This belief is based on significant reforms carried out by the seventh President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo, which have put Indonesia on a path of dramatic transformation.
The figure of the High-ranking Indonesian Military Officer who became the President-Elect of the Country in the 2024 Election views it as important to deepen the transformation that has begun, by continuing reforms in various sectors and mapping out a more dynamic direction. The main focus is to improve the quality of life of the people, while strengthening the foundation of economic and infrastructure development that has been built in the era of President Jokowi.
Not only from an economic and infrastructure perspective, support for the Prabowo-Gibran government also emerged because of their commitment to leadership regeneration. Buya Syekh Muhammad Ali Idris, the Supreme Caretaker of the 39th Lineage of the Naqsabandiyah Sufism Study Association, stated that Prabowo-Gibran’s vision is in line with the nation’s needs to face the demographic bonus.
By partnering with young people, Prabowo and Gibran are considered capable of harnessing the potential of Indonesia’s young generation to build a better future for the nation. Buya Syekh believes that Prabowo’s leadership combined with Gibran’s youthful energy will create the synergy needed to face global challenges and maximize opportunities in national development.
Senior Researcher of National Public Indicators (IPN), Ike Sihotang, also gave a positive view of this pair. According to him, Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka have a clear orientation towards the future of the nation and state.
The success of this pair is not only seen from their track record in politics and government, but also from the great vision they bring to Indonesia. Ike believes that the Prabowo-Gibran duo can bring Indonesia further forward, by ensuring that every policy they implement is oriented towards sustainable long-term development. This is one of the strong reasons why the public continues to give their support.
In the upcoming government, Prabowo-Gibran are committed to continuing Indonesia’s transformation into a developed country. The reforms that have been carried out by President Jokowi in various sectors, such as infrastructure development, improving the quality of human resources, and strengthening the domestic economy, are a strong foundation that will continue to be strengthened by Prabowo and Gibran.
They will ensure that economic growth does not only occur in the center, but also evenly throughout the country. Regions that have so far been less touched by development, such as Papua, will receive greater attention so that development inequality can be minimized.
Moreover, Prabowo and Gibran understand the importance of maintaining political and security stability as the main prerequisite for successful development. Prabowo, with his background as a former TNI Commander, has a deep understanding of the importance of national order and state security.
Meanwhile, Gibran, who is still young and has experience as a mayor, is able to voice the aspirations of the millennial generation and bring a new approach to governance. The two will work together to create a more inclusive government, where all levels of society can actively participate in the development of the country.
In this context, Prabowo-Gibran’s vision oriented towards future development also includes improving the quality of human resources. Education, health, and public welfare will be the main priorities in their government. Prabowo believes that without superior quality human resources, it is difficult for Indonesia to compete in the global arena.
Therefore, reforms in the education sector and increasing access to health will be the main focus during their leadership. The government will continue to encourage innovation in the education sector, while ensuring that health facilities are accessible to all people, including those in remote areas.
