Papua – The Papua Youth Creative Hub (PYCH) community continues to strive to hone the skills and creativity of young Papuans through a series of trainings, one of which is a batik workshop as one of the cultures of the Earth of Cendrawasih.
The training, which was held at the PYCH Building, received enthusiasm from the participants considering that batik has many motifs and techniques that can be explored by young Papuans. Miriam Veronica as the teacher in the training activity said the motifs in the batik made in the training were authentic Papuan motifs because they were the result of the thoughts of the participants.
“There are those who adopt motifs from their own family crest, some from plants, also from aquatic animals such as turtles which mean longevity, and many more that we have added to it, which we have taken from passages of motifs that they have dig in,” explained Miriam
He also hopes that he can help inspire fellow young Papuans to be able to help preserve Papuan culture by making batik.
On another occasion, the Secretary of the Papua Youth Creative Hub (PYCH) for Papua Province, Vitha Faidiban said that the presence of the PYCH building was able to help the young generation of Papua to continue to make many works and also to do everything they could for the good of the people of Cenderawasih Earth.
“The PYCH building can be one of the morning triggers for Papuan youths to be able to explore their best abilities. Of course, BIN’s efforts have been very successful in bringing many benefits to the entire young generation in Papua. Therefore, young people in West Papua welcome with great enthusiasm the Government’s plan to accelerate the construction of the PYCH building.” said Vita Faidiban
Appreciation also deserves to be given to President Joko Widodo and the Head of BIN, Gen. Pol (Purn) Budi Gunawan who were able to prove their commitment to the construction of the PYCH building.
One of the persons in charge of the pre-event for the inauguration of the PYCH building, Paulina Ruwayari also expressed her appreciation for President Jokowi and Head of BIN Jendela Pol (Purn) Budi Gunawan. For him, the building has enormous benefits for young Papuans because of the complete range of extraordinary facilities it has.
“The construction of the Papua Youth Creative Hub building is a directive, idea and also direct support from President Jokowi and the Head of BIN which was then immediately followed up by Deputy IV for Economic Intelligence at BIN, Made Kartikajaya. This proves that the government, through BIN, has a strong commitment to improving the quality of Papuan youth human resources,” said Paulina Ruwayari.
The construction of the PYCH building initiated by BIN is a form of contribution and real work from the Head of BIN, Jen Pol (Purn) Budi Gunawan and has brought many extraordinary benefits to the youth in Bumi Cenderawasih because they already have a platform to continue to be able to develop and grow their interests and talents including the greatest potential they have.
