NTT – The District Head of Manggarai, Herybertus GL Nabit appreciated the holding of the ASEAN Summit in Labuan Bajo, East Nusa Tenggara.
“Congratulations and success on holding the ASEAN Summit in Labuan Bajo, West Manggarai,” said Regent Herybertus.
He also prayed that the implementation of the ASEAN Summit would run smoothly and be successful as expected.
“We pray and hope that the implementation of this ASEAN Summit will run safely and successfully achieve its goals,” he explained.
Herybertus believes that the implementation of the ASEAN Summit will be able to increase the economic growth of the community. It is considered that the economic acceleration will not only occur in Manggarai, but also in East Nusa Tenggara in general.
In a separate place, the West Manggarai Regent, Edistasius Endi, assessed that the ASEAN Summit in Labuan Bajo would have an impact on increasing the economy for the surrounding community.
Edi revealed that the direct impact of the implementation of the ASEAN Summit would be felt directly by Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in West Manggarai Regency.
“Hundreds of delegates from all ASEAN members will buy local MSME products in Labuan Bajo,” said Edi.
Not only that, Edi thinks that the impact of the ASEAN Summit will also stimulate the tourism sector, including hotel and restaurant entrepreneurs to the surrounding community.
“A number of series of ASEAN Summit meetings will obviously have a positive impact. Growth in the transportation, accommodation, MSME and tourism sectors,” he said.
Edi hopes that this event will encourage the creation of new jobs in various sectors, such as culinary and MSMEs. Edi also invited farmers and MSME players to take advantage of this moment. Thus, economic growth and people’s welfare can increase.
“MSME actors should show quality products that they want to exhibit during these international activities,” Edi appealed
In addition, Edi also advised culinary entrepreneurs to maintain cleanliness and provide maximum service to visiting ASEAN Summit guests.
