Indonesia is a country rich in diversity. Where we are currently at an important moment, namely after the general election (Pemilu) and the celebration of Eid al-Fitr 1445 Hijriah. Unity and cohesion are very important things to emphasize. Even though the elections have ended, differences of opinion and political choices still pose a potential for conflict. On the other hand, the momentum of Eid al-Fitr provides an opportunity to restore togetherness and harmony in society.
Elections are often an event that emphasizes differences of opinion and political choices in society. However, after the voting is over, it is time for the entire community to unite again as one nation, so that post-election can be marked as a time for reunion.
Differences of opinion are normal in a democracy, but the most important thing is how individuals can manage them wisely and maturely. The spirit of sportsmanship and respect for other people’s choices must be maintained, so that prolonged friction does not occur.
Election results are a reflection of the will of the people. Even though there are winners and there are losers, respecting the results is an important first step to rebuilding unity. The losing party needs to accept it gracefully, while the winning party needs to avoid being condescending or making the situation worse. All parties must have a mature attitude in accepting the results of democracy.
Sekadau Police Chief, AKBP I Nyoman Sudama together with Deputy Police Chief Commissioner Riko Syafutra held a friendly meeting with community leaders in Sekadau Regency. This activity is part of the Nusantara Cooling System (NCS) program held by the National Police to maintain the security situation and public order (Kamtibmas) during the 2024 Election.
On this occasion, the Sekadau Police Chief expressed his gratitude for the active role of the figures in maintaining regional conduciveness in Sekadau Regency during the 2024 General Election. The Sekadau Police Chief invited the figures to work together to rebuild unity after the 2024 Election. The Sekadau Police Chief also invited all society to respect each other and maintain tolerance between religious communities.
The Chair of TBBR, Chair of MABT and Malay Figures also expressed similar sentiments, who welcomed the Sekadau Police Chief’s efforts in maintaining Security and Order. They also said they would continue to synergize with the police in maintaining unity and unity in Sekadau Regency.
As we know, Eid al-Fitr 1445 H is a sacred moment for Muslims throughout the world, including in Indonesia. In the midst of the joy of welcoming victory day after a month of fasting, maintaining peace and order is a must. The Eid al-Fitr moment must be used as a momentum to draw closer to others, strengthen ties, and eliminate all forms of differences that can divide us.
In celebrating Eid al-Fitr, we must distance ourselves from the politicization of religion and ethnicity. Religion should be a uniter, not a divider. Likewise with ethnic differences, which should be an enriching cultural wealth, not a tool to divide. So, it would be best for all parties to make Eid al-Fitr a moment to forget differences and build unity.

Listyo Sigit Prabowo said that the holy month of Ramadhan is a momentum to build unity and oneness after the 2024 election democratic party, sharing, filling each other and respecting each other starting with oneself and loved ones.
