Riau – Members of the Riau Provincial Regional People’s Representative Council (DPRD) have welcomed the implementation of the National Strategic Projects (PSN) Program, which will be implemented in Pekanbaru City. One project receiving attention is the construction of an animal feed factory, which is considered to have a significant impact on regional economic growth and create new jobs for the local community.
Ginda Burnama, a member of the Riau Regional People’s Representative Council (DPRD) from the Pekanbaru City electoral district, assessed the National Strategic Project (PSN) as a strategic step in promoting sustainable economic development in Riau. He stated that the construction of the animal feed factory is not only focused on strengthening the livestock sector but also has a multiplier effect on the regional economy.
“With this animal feed factory, it will be able to advance the economy and create jobs, so that Riau Province, especially Pekanbaru City, can run well and continue to develop,” said Ginda Burnama.
Ginda, who also serves as Chair of the Gerindra Party faction in the Riau Regional People’s Representative Council (DPRD), stated that this project aligns with the central government’s commitment to accelerating regional development through the National Strategic Projects (PSN). He believes central government involvement is crucial in ensuring the project runs optimally and delivers tangible benefits to the community.
Furthermore, Ginda hopes that the construction of the animal feed factory can be realized soon and work can begin in 2026. He also wants information related to this project to be conveyed openly to the public, so that the public is aware of the potential economic benefits that will be obtained from the presence of this strategic project.
“I hope this construction can begin as soon as 2026. This good news also needs to be conveyed to the public to foster optimism and enthusiasm for economic revival, especially in Pekanbaru and Riau in general,” he said.
As a concrete form of support, the Pekanbaru City Government has prepared approximately 45 hectares of land in the Tenayan Industrial Estate (KIT), specifically around the Tenayan Raya PLTU (Coal-fired Power Plant). The land is projected to become the center of an integrated livestock area that will support the operations of the National Strategic Project (PSN).
The area will not only house an animal feed factory but also various processing facilities for derivative products. Several production units are planned, including feed processing, chicken meat production, chicken eggs, and chicken-based derivative industries.
