The 2024 Simultaneous Regional Elections are getting closer and various preparations are continuing to be made by the regional government, security forces and various elements of society. One of the crucial factors that will determine the success of the regional elections is the creation of a safe and conducive situation, which allows every citizen to exercise their right to vote calmly and free from pressure.
Chairman of the Indonesian Village Apparatus Association (PPDI) West Java, Sutara, SE, stated his readiness to maintain conduciveness so that the democratic process can run smoothly. He conveyed this in a meeting with the West Java Regional Police’s Intelligence and Security Directorate to strengthen his commitment to overseeing the 2024 simultaneous regional elections so that they take place peacefully, safely and orderly.
West Java PPDI will continue to collaborate with the police to maintain the security situation and public order (Kamtibmas) during the Pilkada. Apart from that, the people of West Java are invited to actively participate in making the 2024 regional elections a success, so that this five-yearly democratic party can run well. West Java PPDI is also ready to be at the forefront in maintaining conduciveness to support the success of the 2024 Simultaneous Regional Elections.
The Bogor Regency Regional Government (Pemdakab) in collaboration with the Bogor Regency Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) launched the 2024 Simultaneous Election Vulnerability Map in Bogor Regency with the theme “Hayu Sasarengan Monitor Elections”. This effort was carried out to anticipate and detect early potential vulnerabilities in the Regional Head Election (Pilkada), in order to realize peaceful, successful and conducive Pilkada in Bogor Regency.
Representing the Acting Regent of Bogor, the Head of Bogor Regency Governance, Didin Wahyudin, said that various anticipatory and preparatory efforts were continuing to be carried out by the Bogor Regional Government and the Bogor Regency Bawaslu to make the Pilkada a success.
Enthusiasm and collaboration will continue to ensure that the regional elections are safe, peaceful and successful. Through participatory supervision, it is hoped that political education for the community can encourage the realization of safe and peaceful regional elections, one of which is through the launch of the 2024 Simultaneous Election Vulnerability Map.
Didin emphasized the importance of launching the 2024 Simultaneous Election Vulnerability Map as an early warning to detect potential vulnerabilities in the Pilkada, so that it can classify areas that have high, medium and low levels of potential vulnerability.
Through this collaboration, effective preventive measures can be developed so that the regional elections run safely and smoothly. Strong collaboration needs to continue to be built to ensure that the regional elections are honest, fair and democratic.
Chairman of Bawaslu Bogor Regency, Ridwan Arifin, explained that the 2024 Simultaneous Election Vulnerability Map in Bogor Regency is an implementation of the Bawaslu RI and West Java Province program, namely the Election Vulnerability Index (IKP) based on Law no. 7 and 10. This map was obtained by collecting data from 40 sub-districts and 435 villages in Bogor Regency, so that it can map and classify areas based on their level of vulnerability.
With the 2024 Simultaneous Election Vulnerability Map in Bogor Regency, it is hoped that potential vulnerabilities in the Pilkada which will be held in November 2024 can be anticipated, so that a conducive atmosphere in the Bogor Regency area is maintained, and the Pilkada can take place safely and peacefully without obstacles.
In an effort to create an orderly, safe, peaceful and democratic 2024 Simultaneous Regional Election, the Satu Periok Community of Mempawah Regency held a focused group discussion. This activity presented figures and stakeholders , and was filled with a declaration to realize the Mempawah Regency Pilkada without hoaxes, hate speech and SARA identity politics.
The discussion, which carried the theme “Joint Commitment between Figures and Stakeholders for Peaceful Regional Elections”, was also attended by the Acting Regent of Mempawah, Ismail, who stated that the Mempawah Regency Government fully supports holding this discussion in order to realize the 2024 Simultaneous Regional Elections that are orderly, safe and democratic.
In order to realize the 2024 Simultaneous Pilkada which is peaceful and has integrity, several important points which according to the Acting Regent of Mempawah, Ismail need to be paid attention to, are effective collaboration and coordination between all stakeholders. Collaboration and coordination between all parties is the main key to the success of the upcoming regional elections.
The importance of providing education and outreach to the community regarding the stages and entire series of holding simultaneous regional elections in Mempawah Regency is also a focus. This education includes fulfilling people’s rights as voters, so that they can use their voting rights properly and democratically.
Apart from that, law enforcement and justice are also priorities. The Mempawah Regency Government is committed to firmly upholding law and justice in order to maintain the integrity of regional government.
Realizing safe, peaceful and democratic regional elections is not only the responsibility of the government, but also all elements of society. By jointly maintaining a conducive situation, we can ensure that the 2024 Simultaneous Pilkada becomes an important momentum in strengthening democracy in Indonesia and producing leaders who are able to bring progress to their regions.
