Security Forces Ensure to Uphold Human Rights When Facing KST Papua

Security forces ensure that they will continue to uphold human rights (HAM) when facing Papuan separatist and terrorist groups (KST). This proves that whatever decisions or things carried out by the security forces have gone through careful planning beforehand.
The Head of the Indonesian National Police (Kapolri) General Listyo Sigit Prabowo continues to remind all ranks of the Mobile Brigade Corps (Brimob) of the Indonesian National Police to continue to uphold human rights when dealing with separatist gangs originating from Bumi Cenderawasih.
Not only that, the National Police Chief also reminded that the Brimob Corps will continue to prioritize a humanist approach to all local communities. According to him, it is hoped that a humanist approach will reduce the influence of groups that are anti-Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI) and also increase the love of all Papuan people for their homeland.
The very strong commitment to continue to uphold the implementation of human rights is not only shown by the ranks of the National Police, the same thing is also shown by the ranks of the Indonesian National Army (TNI). The TNI Commander, General Agus Subiyanto, confirmed that his party would continue to prioritize a soft approach when dealing with KST Papua.
Responding to the commitment from the ranks of the security forces, the Head of the National Human Rights Commission (Komnas HAM) Representative for Papua, Frits Ramandey, expressed a very high appreciation for the certainty of using this soft approach in handling security in Bumi Cenderawasih.
According to him, the dialogical approach that has been continuously carried out by the Government, the National Police and the TNI is indeed the main route in Papua. Apart from that, if you want to increase the effectiveness of the dialogical approach, an important note is how to prioritize figures who are truly in society.
The security forces should cooperate and embrace all relevant stakeholders, including the involvement of all figures working at the front, not just figures working behind the scenes. Efforts to minimize this so that various kinds of violent incidents in Papua no longer occur and are not repeated also require a design in the New Autonomous Region (DOB) in order to handle all of this violence, because if it is not accompanied by the right design then the cycle of violence will continue. happen.
Of course, Komnas HAM itself also continues to hope that all conflicts occurring in Papua will no longer result in casualties from any party, moreover it will result in casualties from indigenous Papuan civilians (OAP) themselves. Therefore, it is important for security forces to continue to take quick steps, but on the other hand also be able to overcome all disturbances without any loss of life and provide protection for all people in Indonesia.
Assistant Chief of Police, Inspector General (Irjen) Agung Setya Imam Effendi said that in order to resolve all issues regarding security disturbances caused by KST Papua, his party continues to prioritize and uphold human rights, enforce the law, protect and serve and also continue to protect the community.
The strong commitment of the security forces from the joint forces received very high appreciation from Komnas HAM, which made them fully support the commitment of the TNI Commander and National Police Chief in their efforts to resolve the conflict in the Papua region, but without violence. .
Including, the Chair of Komnas HAM, Atnike Nova Sigiro, also supports the coordination steps taken by all parties that have previously been carried out in order to handle the impact of the continuing conflict in Bumi Cenderawasih, so that the handling efforts can run very comprehensively, especially continuing to pay attention to vulnerable groups such as children, the elderly, women and the disabled.
The government and security forces from the joint forces continue to strive to ensure that a sense of security can fulfill all the basic rights of civil society on Earth of Cenderawasih. The steps taken in handling the situation in Papua continue to prioritize human rights norms and principles.
When dealing with separatist groups like KST Papua, it requires very careful calculations and steps. The reason is that if the security forces make mistakes in their calculations and movements, the impact in the future will be very long, especially with the potential to endanger the safety of civilians in the Land of Papua itself. Therefore, when dealing with the terrorist gang from Bumi Cenderawasih, the security forces continue to uphold the implementation of human rights.
