Soekarno-Hatta Airport Improves Services Ahead of the 43rd ASEAN Summit

JAKARTA — Soekarno-Hatta Airport continues to improve and focus on aspects of security, safety and also their services in welcoming the 43rd ASEAN Summit.

PT Angkasa Pura II, which is the company that oversees the international airport in DKI Jakarta, continues to carry out various preparations to welcome all heads of state and state guests arriving at the event.

It is known that the 43rd ASEAN Summit itself will take place in Jakarta from 5 to 7 September 2023.

AP II Main Director Muhammad Awaluddin explained that there were many aspects that they continued to improve.

“Security, safety and service aspects are the focus in welcoming heads of state, heads of international organizations and delegations,” he explained.

Soekarno-Hatta Airport itself has prepared up to three points to receive arrivals from state guest delegations.

“Soekarno-Hatta Airport has prepared three arrival points, namely the VIP Terminal for heads of state, as well as the Commercial Important Person (CIP) Lounge m, and Terminal 3,” said Awaluddin.

Then, Director of Commercial and Services of AP II, M Rixal Pahlevi added that at the VIP Terminal there will also be presented various national cultural heritages such as woven fabrics originating from NTT, wayang golek, typical Batak ornaments and so on.

This effort is in line with efforts to make the international airport a cultural showcase.

“This is also in line with efforts to make the airport a cultural showcase,” said Rizal.

In order to prepare for the success of the entire implementation of the 43rd ASEAN Summit, there are indeed many things that are considered by Indonesia as the host.

One of them is the Minister of Communication and Information Budi Arie who invited journalists through the Editors’ Forum to be able to participate in the success of this series of international events.

“Ahead of the 43rd ASEAN Summit, it feels like we will meet more to make the summit successful during this year’s Indonesian Chairmanship period,” he said.

This is because, based on Presidential Decree (Kepres) Number 5 of 2023 concerning the Indonesian National Chairperson Committee at ASEAN 2023 Article 10, that the Minister of Communication and Informatics itself has a role as the person in charge of the fields of communication, media and public relations.

Therefore, from this role, the Minister of Communication and Informatics immediately followed up by providing a Media Center for the 43rd ASEAN Summit 2023.

With the meeting at the Pemres Forum, he hopes that all parties have the same vision to support the success of this international forum.

“Through this meeting, I hope we have the same vision and understanding in supporting the success of this event,” said Minister Budi.
