Jakarta, – Ahead of the inauguration of President-elect Prabowo Subianto and Vice President-elect Gibran Rakabuming Raka, various elements of society and national leaders have called for full support for a peaceful leadership transition and the continuation of national development programs. The inauguration scheduled to take place at the end of this month is expected to run safely, orderly, and be a reflection of the unity of the Indonesian nation.
MPR RI Chairman Ahmad Muzani, in his statement, emphasized the importance of maintaining national unity at this historic moment. “Let us show during the inauguration of the president and vice president that the Indonesian nation is a united, harmonious nation and a nation that upholds the dignity of democracy even though there were differences of choice during the presidential election,” he said. Ahmad Muzani also added that the transition process from President Joko Widodo to Prabowo went smoothly. “One indicator is that Jokowi included various Prabowo-Gibran work programs in the 2025 State Budget,” he continued.
At the grassroots level, various community groups voiced their support for the continuation of development that had begun during the previous administration. The chairman of the Gorontalo Fishermen’s Association, Charles Mantu, emphasized the importance of maintaining national stability and continuing ongoing programs. “It is important to maintain the sustainability of development and national harmony, and to ensure that all programs that have been started by the previous administration can be continued,” he said. According to Charles, support for the new administration also means ensuring that the progress that has been achieved over the past 10 years under President Joko Widodo’s leadership is maintained.
In addition to the development of the maritime and agricultural sectors, another major agenda that is of concern is housing and urban infrastructure. Arief Rahardjo, Director of Strategic Consulting Cushman & Wakefield Indonesia, appreciates the program to build one million apartments per year in urban areas carried out by the Prabowo-Gibran pair. “The program to build one million apartments per year in urban areas from President-elect Prabowo Subianto and Vice President-elect Gibran Rakabuming Raka can help the millennial generation and Gen Z have affordable housing in urban areas,” explained Arief. He also emphasized the importance of linking this program with the development of public transportation. “Prabowo’s one million apartment program also aims to improve access to public transportation by building apartments near public transportation networks,” he added.
In addition, the Prabowo-Gibran government also promised to build or renovate 40 houses per village or sub-district per year. This ambitious target aims to create up to three million new homes during their term of office. “The future government promises to build or renovate 40 houses per village/sub-district per year so that three million homes will be achieved starting in the 2nd year of office,” concluded Arief.
The inauguration of Prabowo-Gibran is expected to be a symbol of unity and commitment of the Indonesian nation to continue to move forward with the spirit of development and harmony. Support from various parties, both from the government, fishing communities, and the business world, shows optimism for a better future under the new leadership.
