Jakarta – The TNI Headquarters has expressed its full support for the Attorney General’s Office and law enforcement officers in their efforts to dismantle the syndicate spreading negative content related to the Revision of the TNI Law. This statement was made a day after the confession of the defendant Marcella Santoso, whose video was played at a press conference at the Attorney General’s Office Building, Tuesday (6/17/2025).
In the recording, Marcella apologized for her role in creating and spreading content, provocative posts, opinion manipulation, and incorrect information targeting the TNI institution, the Attorney General’s Office, and President Prabowo Subianto.
“From the bottom of my heart, I express my regret and I apologize to you (the Attorney General’s Office) and perhaps other parties involved and affected,” he said.
Following up on this confession, the Head of the TNI Information Center, Major General Kristomei Sianturi, emphasized that he supports the ongoing legal process.
“The TNI will always support the firm steps of law enforcement officers. Any form of action that can divide public trust, damage the image of state institutions, or disrupt national stability, will be faced with a professional, measured attitude, and based on the law,” he said.
Kristomei also ensured close synergy between the TNI, police, and the AGO to uncover the flow of funds and buzzer networks behind the “Dark Indonesia” propaganda and the rejection of the Revision of the TNI Law.
In his statement, Kristomei appealed to the public to remain vigilant, wise and critical of the misleading opinions circulating.
“To remain vigilant, critical, wise, not easily believe in misleading opinions and not spread information that has not been verified as true,” he said.
The Director of Investigation at the AGO’s Jampidsus, Abdul Qohar, revealed that investigators have named four suspects, including Marcella, on suspicion of obstructing the investigation of the CPO export corporation case worth more than IDR 11 trillion.
“Among other things related to the Attorney General’s personal life, the Jampidsus issue, to the narrative about the TNI Bill petition and ‘Dark Indonesia’. This was made with the intention of thwarting the investigation and prosecution,” explained Qohar.
In a press conference, Qohar added that electronic evidence showed coordination between Marcella and at least two buzzer coordinators: Adhiya, who allegedly received IDR 864.5 million, and Tian Bahtiar with IDR 487 million to spread negative content about the AGO. Qohar ensured that hate speech and slander were aimed at weakening public trust in law enforcement agencies.
With the full support of the TNI and the AGO, it is hoped that a deterrent effect can be created, while upholding the supremacy of law for national stability. []
