Temporary Housing Recovery Accelerated, Prabowo Ensures Return to Normal for Residents

Jakarta – President Prabowo Subianto emphasized that the government takes disaster management seriously and is committed to easing the burden on residents. The President also appreciated Danantara’s initiative in accelerating the construction of temporary shelters and requested strict coordination to ensure the process runs smoothly.

“I thank Danantara for what I consider to be a good job. Building these shelters in such a short time is an achievement. I will ask Danantara to coordinate closely with the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) and the local government,” said President Prabowo.

President Prabowo also expressed his appreciation to all parties involved. He considered cross-stakeholder collaboration key to accelerating recovery. Speed and accuracy in building shelters for affected communities in Aceh and West Sumatra are fundamental principles.

Meanwhile, Dony Oskaria, Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Danantara and Head of the State-Owned Enterprises Regulatory Agency, stated that accelerating housing construction is the state’s commitment to ensuring that affected residents can gradually return to their lives and economic activities.

“In principle, we want to participate in helping our brothers and sisters affected by the disaster. We hope this housing will provide safe and decent housing, while also supporting their recovery process,” he said.

He emphasized that the development of the housing area is designed not only to be fast, but also to prioritize quality. Various supporting facilities, such as public facilities, places of worship, and play areas, will be built to ensure the continuity of residents’ activities during the transition period.

This program is part of the target of building up to 15,000 housing units, which will be developed in stages in various affected areas, adjusting to the readiness and needs of the locations.

“We are awaiting direction from the local government regarding other areas that need it and are ready to be built,” said Dony.

Similarly, Hutama Karya’s President Director, Koentjoro, stated that Hutama Karya is always ready and willing to be present to be part of the nation’s development.

“With enthusiasm and all the resources we have, we are optimistic that we can synergize together to serve and make the best contribution. We are confident that the temporary housing can be there to restore a more decent life for the affected residents,” he explained.

Hutama Karya’s support is part of a multi-stakeholder collaboration to transition disaster management from the emergency phase to a more structured recovery phase, including the restoration of basic services to gradually restore community activities.

This collaboration is carried out through coordination with Danantara, BP BUMN, and the involvement of other state-owned enterprises in the temporary shelter construction program in Aceh Tamiang.
