Papua – Inspiring Young Papua (PMI) under the auspices of the State Intelligence Agency (BIN) has succeeded in creating new young Papuan entrepreneurs in various fields ranging from agriculture, animal husbandry, MSMEs to education. They have succeeded in developing themselves by trying to do various types of businesses that have been programmed by PMI assisted by BIN to be able to contribute to the welfare of the people of Papua.
A laying hen breeder, Maria Fransisca Tambingo, said that the assistance provided by BIN to the young generation of Papua through the PMI program was very useful. Since starting to be involved in livestock activities at the end of 2021, now Maria is able to generate profits of tens to tens of millions of rupiah per month, from around 4,000 laying hens she keeps. This was conveyed by Maria Fransisca some time ago in Jayapura, Papua.
The 2014 Puteri Indonesia finalist added that up to now there are 18 locations for laying hen farms that have been built and fostered by Inspirational Young Papua and the State Intelligence Agency which are spread across several points in Papua Province. Production of laying hens is expected to continue to grow and meet the needs of the egg market in the province of Papua.
Meanwhile, the Inspiring Young Papua Coordinator or PMI for the Fakfak region, Abdul Wahab Iha said, PMI together with the Regional Government of Fakfak Regency, in full support of the national program, have prepared cattle, livestock land and corn planting land.
Until now, around 100 cows belonging to the community will be managed by PMI together with the Regional Government in the cattle workshop program, and 2 tonnes of corn seed which will be planted on a 40 hectare land with PT NLS, which is located in the Bomberay District. Both corn and beef.
Abdul also explained that apart from maximizing the cattle population owned by the community, PMI also plans to increase the number of cattle that will be imported from outside Fakfak Regency. PMI will collaborate with the local government and the central government, in the form of an investment scheme by bringing in 1,000 head of cattle.
