The Government Ensures Sufficient LPG and Fuel Stocks for the Christmas and New Year Holidays

Jakarta — The government has ensured a secure supply of LPG and fuel oil (BBM) for the 2025 Christmas and 2026 New Year (Nataru) holidays. Several measures have been prepared across ministries, regulatory agencies, and the Pertamina Group to strengthen supply, distribution, and preparedness to ensure the public’s energy needs are met without interruption.

Deputy Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), Yuliot Tanjung, emphasized that the government has ensured that fuel and LPG reserves are at safe levels. He stated that supply monitoring will be more intensive ahead of peak public mobility at the end of the year.

“The government is committed to maintaining a safe fuel reserve and ensuring the quality of supply,” Yuliot said.

He also expressed his appreciation for Pertamina Patra Niaga’s swift steps in strengthening supplies in various regions. Yuliot noted that various efforts, such as increasing stock, managing distribution, and preparing for extreme weather, are crucial for maintaining public comfort during the long holiday period.

“We appreciate Pertamina Patra Niaga’s continued readiness to strengthen supply and ensure smooth service. Efforts to increase stocks and prepare for extreme weather are crucial to ensuring public comfort during the upcoming Christmas and New Year holidays,” Yuliot added.

Meanwhile, Wahyudi Anas, Head of the Downstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Agency (BPH Migas), confirmed that fuel distribution readiness has been thoroughly planned. According to Wahyudi, areas with potential for increased consumption will be the primary focus of monitoring to prevent distribution disruptions.

“In preparation for the 2025/2026 Christmas and New Year holidays, the government, along with the business entities tasked with fuel management, hopes that everything will run smoothly and distribution will be secure. We can also anticipate any surge in demand,” he said.

Acting Corporate Secretary of the Pertamina International Refinery (KPI), Milla Suciyani, stated that this readiness is in line with the accelerated formation of the Energy Distribution Control and Monitoring Task Force, which will be in charge from late November 2025 to early January 2026.

“KPI ensures that the refinery will remain operational throughout the Christmas and New Year holidays. We will also continue to ensure that the refinery produces products as planned, reliably and safely,” said Milla.

Milla emphasized that in addition to achieving production targets, KPI also guarantees quality and timely distribution to all regions. Refinery performance during the Christmas and New Year period is a crucial indicator in maintaining public trust in KPI and Pertamina.

“We are not only pursuing production targets, but also guaranteeing quality and timely distribution throughout Indonesia,” Milla concluded.

Stock and distribution readiness are key factors in ensuring fuel needs are met amidst increased mobility. With these various measures, the government is optimistic that national fuel and LPG needs during the 2025/2026 Christmas and New Year holidays will be met safely, smoothly, and with high quality.
