The Government Prioritizes Development in Papua for the Acceleration of Even Distribution

The Indonesian government continues to prioritize the development of this nation from the Land of Papua first. The main goal of President Jokowi is to be able to carry out equitable development in the country, including to be able to overcome any gaps that may still exist in several regions in the archipelago.

The President of the Republic of Indonesia (RI), Joko Widodo (Jokowi) stated that currently the government has succeeded in completing various types of infrastructure development in the Land of Papua. Some of them are the construction of roads, bridges, airports and the existence of cross-border posts (PLBN), all of which have been accelerated by the government in an effort to accelerate development in Cenderawasih Earth.

With all the development successes in these various sectors, the Head of State re-emphasized that the Land of Papua itself is indeed a priority for the Indonesian Government in realizing its development efforts, which is replacing the old Java-centric paradigm towards Indonesia-centric development.

Because it is undeniable that all infrastructure development programs and efforts carried out by President Jokowi in the Land of Papua have spent quite a bit of budget, he even then invited the whole community to be able to continue to oversee all development programs in Cenderawasih Earth together. the.

For information, that the entire budget has been maximized and optimized by the government at various levels, starting from the central government, provincial government (Pemprov), district government (Pemkab) to local city government (Pemkot). The entire budget that has been issued has even reached 1,036 trillion Rupiah.

Of course, with the amount of budget funds that have been disbursed by the government in an effort to run the accelerated development program in Cenderawasih Earth, it also shows how serious the government is in actually being able to realize development with an Indonesia-centric paradigm.

Because the amount of the budget that has been disbursed is not small, it is true that all people in the country must also be able to jointly supervise, oversee and observe how the development process is being carried out. Because the active participation of the community as the controlling party is able to prevent and minimize the possibility of budget misappropriation by a number of elements.

Some examples of infrastructure development that have been successfully carried out by the government in Tanah Papua itself are the Trans-Papua road up to 3,462 kilometers (km), then there are also roads along the border up to 1,098 kilometers (km). Not only that, but the government also managed to build the Youtefa Bridge up to 1.3 kilometers (km) long in Jayapura. Then there is another Domine Eduard Osok Airport which was built in Sorong, where the terminal has also been repaired.

For the sake of aviation, the airport in Wamena was successfully built by the government under President Jokowi’s current leadership. There are also cross-border developments in 3 (three) locations, namely in Skouw, Sota then in Yetetkun, Boven Digoel.

Furthermore, until now there is indeed the possibility of acts of corruption that could be carried out by unscrupulous officials, especially with regard to the accelerated development program in Papua, which already has a very fantastic budget, it continues to be a scourge, not only in the easternmost province. Indonesia that’s all, but in all provinces in the country.

Therefore, it is indeed very important that all elements of society continue to monitor and supervise infrastructure development in the Land of Papua, as was the hope and message conveyed by the seventh President of the Republic of Indonesia.

Meanwhile, the government through the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri) has also held a Development Planning Meeting (Musrenbang) for the Regional Development Work Plan (RKPD).

Deputy for Border Area Infrastructure Management of the National Border Management Agency (BNPP) Lieutenant General Retired (Retired Lt. Gen.) Jeffry Apoly Rahawarin said that in an effort to be able to increase the synergy of development, especially how the synergy is owned by the central government and local regional governments, and adjust regarding planning and budgeting, it is really necessary to have various steps to synchronize between planning documents, which are then followed by synchronization of budgeting documents.

Indeed, there are 2 (two) things that are very important in optimizing the acceleration of development in Papua, namely the first is related to regional development planning which must be aligned with the national development plan, then the second is regarding what has been planned the budget should also be formulated.

Since the beginning, the government in President Jokowi’s era has been very committed to being able to continue to prioritize Papua in the development of this country. Even starting from how the planning must be arranged in such a way, even in the implementation, the community is encouraged to participate in carrying out supervision. Because in the future, with the successful acceleration of development, it will also be able to overcome the problem of inequality in Indonesia.
