The Regulation in lieu of the Job Creation Law (Perpu Cipta Kerja) has been officially signed by President Jokowi in 2022. The Perpu Cipta Kerja aims to encourage household consumption, domestic investment, to job creation.
Until now, the determination of the work copyright law to become a law still reaps pros and cons. Many members of the public staged demonstrations to demand that the work copyright law be revoked.
However, Pelita Harapan University Postgraduate Lecturer Dr. Emrus Sihombing said that demonstrations or demonstrations against the Job Creation Law were urgently needed. According to him, even though there are many demonstrators against the Job Creation Law, it is also necessary to demonstrate in support of the Job Creation Law.
“Not only do demonstrations against the Job Creation Law always occur, but demonstrations in support of the Job Creation Law are also necessary as a right guaranteed by law,” he said in a written statement.
Apart from that, according to him, the enactment of the Job Creation Law will provide more benefits to the Indonesian people which aim to prosper the Indonesian people. “The content of the Job Creation Law is oriented towards the welfare of the Indonesian people in general,” he said.
The enactment of the Job Creation Law should be able to provide a lot of jobs, because the implementation of the Job Creation Law can impact Indonesia experiencing a shortage of workers in all fields and levels of business/business.
This is according to Dr. Emrus because there are many who initially were workers who eventually turned into business owners who provided jobs.
“One of the reasons is that there is migration of Indonesian citizens from applicants or workers to recipients of workers or business owners/entrepreneurs,” said Dr. Emrus.
Furthermore, he believes that the demonstration against the Job Creation Perpu to be enacted into a Law is part of the framework for drafting the Job Creation Law. For this reason, the Job Creation Law is based on the participation of the Indonesian people.
“The flow of political communication from political input (support and rejection) to producing political output in the form of the Job Creation Law goes according to each cognition map as a manifestation of the political interests of participants in political communication in the public space,” he said.
