Jakarta – Security forces have emphasized that synergy between the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and the Indonesian National Police (Polri) is a key pillar in maintaining stability and ensuring a sense of security for all Indonesians. This commitment was emphasized in a joint statement, emphasizing the importance of collaboration between the authorities and the public to create a conducive environment amidst national dynamics.
Deputy Chief of Police, Commissioner General Dedi Prasetyo, urged all elements of society to participate in protecting their respective neighborhoods. He stated that success in ensuring security cannot be achieved by the police alone but requires the active participation of all citizens.
“We cannot work alone. Collaboration between the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and the Indonesian National Police (Polri), with the full support of local governments, community leaders, religious leaders, and youth is key. The public is our eyes and ears. Report any suspicious activity and potential disturbances to the nearest Bhabinkamtibmas (Community Police), Polsek (Sector Police), or Polres (Regional Police). Good communication between the public and authorities will break the chain of crime and create the sense of security we desire,” explained the Deputy Chief of Police.
Responding to the circulating news, the Deputy Chief of Police also asked the public to remain calm and not be easily provoked by misleading issues.
“To all Indonesian people, we ask you to remain calm. Do not be swayed by incitement and hoaxes that cause panic. The Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and the Indonesian National Police (Polri) have been deployed on full alert. We assure you that we will act professionally, responsibly, and in accordance with applicable legal procedures, while upholding human rights. There should be no doubt, as our firmness is a form of protection for your sovereignty and peace,” he said.
He added that the security forces’ primary focus at this time is ensuring a swift and comprehensive recovery. This effort is being carried out through routine patrols, persuasive appeals, and an approach involving all levels of society.
“Our primary goal is a swift and comprehensive restoration of security. With routine patrols, persuasive appeals, and the full support of all levels of society, we are confident the situation can quickly return to normal and be conducive. We are safeguarding Indonesia, we are protecting the Indonesian people,” concluded the Deputy Chief of Police.
Meanwhile, Deputy Commander of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), General Tandyo Budi Revita, emphasized that the TNI remains united and synergizes with the National Police (Polri) in maintaining national security. He emphasized that this synergy is also a direct directive from the President.
“On the 30th, the President summoned the TNI Commander and the National Police Chief. He emphasized that we are united and working together to manage the situation,” Tandyo said.
Tandyo also emphasized that the Indonesian National Police (Polri) remains at the forefront of handling security in the field, while the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) will be present as a supporting force if the situation demands.
“The National Police are at the forefront. The Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) are only present when circumstances require it. There is no intention to dominate or take over authority,” he stressed.
With the strong commitment of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and the Indonesian National Police (Polri) and the active participation of the public, the government is optimistic that security and order will continue to be maintained as the primary foundation for national development.
